Rotten Calder
The Rotten Calder is a river to the east of East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, Scotlandand, along with the Rotten Burn it forms the southern and western boundaries of Blantyre. It begins as the Calder Water at its source at Ardochrig, and is joined by the Cleughearn, Lea and Drumloch Burns around Langlands Moss which drain from the Eldrig Hills. This river has also been titled the 'West' or 'South Calder Water', although the latter title is shared by another river in Motherwell.

Uddingston Grammar School is the only high school in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Its motto is 'Virtute Crescam' which means 'may I grow in moral excellence' The school was opened in August 1885. It was located by Uddingston railway station. In 2009 Uddingston Grammar moved to a new school building which was built on the old school playing fields, after a number of objections to the suitability of the site.

Glasgow Zoo, or Calderpark Zoo, was a 99-acre zoological park in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It was just outside the city of Glasgow. It was established by the Zoological Society of Glasgow and West of Scotland in 1947, which was itself established in 1936. The zoo was located on the lands of the former Calderpark Estate, and during its peak attracted around about 140,000 visitors a year.
Bothwell Castle Cricket Ground
Bothwell Castle Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Uddingston, Scotland, and is named after the nearby Bothwell Castle. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1902 when Uddingston played a friendly against Gloucestershire. 110 years later the ground held its first List A match when Scotland played Glamorgan in the 2012 Clydesdale Bank 40. A further List A match was held there in that same competition, with Hampshire the visitors.
