Airdrie Public Observatory
Airdrie Public Observatory (55° 51' 56" N, 03° 58' 58" W) is in the town of Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The observatory is open to the public by request, and is housed in Airdrie Public Library. Installed on the roof of the first purpose-built library building in 1896, it is the smallest, and second oldest, of four public observatories operating in the UK, all of which are sited in Scotland. The present library building was opened in 1925.

Hillend Loch Railway Path
The Hillend Loch Railway Path is a rail trail located in central Scotland. The path is approximately 14 miles long and follows the route of the former Bathgate and Coatbridge Railway between Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, and Bathgate, West Lothian . It forms part of National Cycle Network Route 75 which runs from Clyde to Forth. It is also known as Airdrie to Bathgate Railway Path. The railway has been rebuilt and the path will be relocated.
Carnbroe
Carnbroe is a neighbourhood in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. A former industrial village, Carnbroe is located southeast of Coatbridge and southwest of neighbouring Airdrie. It lies above a meander of the North Calder Water, which flows around it in a steep gorge. Once it was a collier village and large ironworks, the Calder Iron Works, were built there in 1838 immediately to the north on the opposite bank of the river. They closed in 1921 and the village grew to occupy that site.
Glenmavis
Glenmavis is a village in the North Lanarkshire area of Scotland. It is situated about 2 miles north-west of Airdrie on the B802 road. The United Kingdom Census 2001 recorded a population of 2286. Formerly a pit village there are no longer any active coal mines in the area. There is a major liquified natural gas (LNG) storage depot to the north of the village. There was a castle at Rochsoles Park, followed by a mansion, now demolished, apart from the stables.
