On 28 April 1877 a meeting was called by Mr William Longmore to consider a proposal to build a cottage hospital for the parish of Keith.
Strathisla distillery
Strathisla distillery is the oldest continuously operating distillery in Scotland. It was founded as the Milltown Distillery by George Taylor in 1789 as an alternative to the waning of flax dressing industry. He leased the land from the Earl of Seafield. By 1830, the distillery was owned by William Longmore, later William Longmore Ltd. In 1879, the distillery suffered terribly from a fire, but was rebuilt with a bottling plant.
Auchindachy railway station
Auchindachy railway station served the village of Auchindachy in Scotland. Served by the Keith and Dufftown railway, it was the last station before Keith Town and Keith Junction where the line met the Great North of Scotland line that ran from Keith to Elgin.

Aultmore railway station was a station which served Aultmore, in the Scottish county of Moray. It was served by trains on the Buckie and Portessie Branch north of Keith. The latter station is now the nearest to Aultmore.
Aultmore distillery
Aultmore is a whisky distillery in Keith, Banffshire, producing an epinomous single malt whisky. Its name is a derived from the phrase An t-Allt Mòr, Gaelic for big burn, referring to its water source the Auchinderran burn. It was founded in 1895 by Alexander Edward, then owner of the Benrinnes distillery. The distillery was originally powered by a waterwheel, and was soon adapted to use a steam engine instead, which ran day and night for 70 years, apart from maintenance.
