The Macallan distillery

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999. In 2009, the Herald reported that Macallan was "the world’s third largest-selling single malt with over 500,000 cases a year, and second largest by value.

Strathspey, Scotland

Strathspey is the area around the strath of the River Spey, Scotland, in both the Moray council area and the Badenoch and Strathspey committee area of Highland. It is also one of the main centres of the Scotch whisky industry, with a high concentration of single malt distilleries in the region, including the Glenfiddich distillery and the Balvenie distillery.

Craigellachie Bridge

The Craigellachie Bridge is a cast iron arch bridge located at Craigellachie which is near to the village of Aberlour in Moray, Scotland. It was designed by the renowned civil engineer Thomas Telford and built from 1812–1814. The bridge has a single span of approximately 46 metres and was revolutionary for its time, in that it used an extremely slender arch which was not possible using traditional masonry construction.

Craigellachie, Moray

Craigellachie is a small village in Moray, Scotland, at the confluence of the River Spey and River Fiddich (whose valley or glen gives its name to the famous Scotch whisky Glenfiddich), in walking distance of the town of Aberlour. The name means rocky hill and was first applied to the cliff on which much of the village is sited, above the River Spey. Craigellachie dates back to at least 1750, when there was a ferry across the Spey where today's village now stands.

Fleming Cottage Hospital is a UK National Health Service hospital in Aberlour, Morayshire, Scotland. It is administered by NHS Grampian. Fleming Hospital was purpose built and is physically adjoined to the local health centre providing GP, community nursing and other primary care services. Fleming Hospital has 15 beds providing medical care, rehabilitation, assessment, palliative/terminal care, convalescence and respite care. The hospital also has a minor injuries unit.

Aberlour railway station

Aberlour railway station served the village of Aberlour in Scotland. Served by the Strathspey railway, it was the last station before the junction at Craigellachie, where the line met the Great North of Scotland line that ran from Keith to Elgin.

Speyside Cooperage

The Speyside Cooperage is a cooperage located in Craigellachie, Aberlour, Scotland. Its visitor centre, the only such in Britain, is part of the Malt Whisky Trail. Each year, it produces and repairs nearly 150,000 oak casks used by the surrounding Speyside Whisky distilleries, as well as distilleries elsewhere throughout Scotland. Owned by the Taylor family since its founding in 1947, the cooperage was sold in 2008 to the French firm Tonnellerie François Frères.
