River Ness
The River Ness is a river flowing from Loch Ness in Scotland, north to Inverness and the Moray Firth. On a hill above the river in Inverness stands Inverness Castle. The river is overlooked by the Eden Court Theatre, one of the largest theatres in Scotland. St. Andrews Cathedral also lies along the banks of the River Ness. Inverness draws many tourists and there are many large hotels along the river. There are several bridges in Inverness which cross the River Ness.
Kessock Bridge
The Kessock Bridge carries the A9 trunk road across the Beauly Firth at Inverness.
Merkinch
Merkinch is an area of the city of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. One of the Inverness's oldest areas, it is located in the north-west of the city, flanked by the Caledonian Canal to the west and the River Ness to the east. Originally, Merkinch was home to Inverness's shipbuilding industry and the Kessock Ferry sailed across the Moray Firth from a pier in South Kessock, to the north of Merkinch. Distilling was another important industry with a number of distilleries located in the area.
Beauly Firth
The Beauly Firth is a firth in northern Scotland. It is effectively a continuation of the Moray Firth westward, and is bounded at one end by Beauly and at the other by Inverness. The Kessock Ferry has crossed at the eastern end since the 15th Century. Today, the A9 crosses on the Kessock Bridge. The Beauly Firth has several names in Scottish Gaelic including Linne Fharair, Poll an Ròid and Caolas Uisge a' Mhanachainn - the latter being a more literal version of the English.
South Kessock
South Kessock is an area of the city of Inverness in Scotland. It is to the north of Merkinch and is also known, somewhat disparagingly, as the Ferry. Prior to the construction of the Kessock Bridge, the Kessock Ferry sailed between North Kessock and here. South Kessock has featured in two novels by Alex Mabon: The Lads from the Ferry and War of the Ferry. It is traditionally viewed as a working class area.
Diocese of Moray, Ross and Caithness
The Diocese of Moray, Ross and Caithness is one of the seven dioceses of the Scottish Episcopal Church. It covers Caithness and Sutherland, mainland Ross and Cromarty, and mainland Inverness-shire, Nairnshire, Moray and Banffshire. The diocesan centre is St. Andrew's Cathedral in Inverness. The see is currently occupied by the Right Reverend Mark Strange. The three old dioceses united in the modern diocese were all founded during the 12th century.
Old High St Stephen's
Old High St Stephen's Church is a parish church of the Church of Scotland in Inverness, the capital city of the Highlands of Scotland. The congregation was formed on 30 October 2003 by a union of the congregations of Inverness Old High and Inverness St Stephen's . Unusually in a union of Church of Scotland congregations, both buildings were retained for worship.

Scorguie (Scottish Gaelic: Sgurr Gaoithe, "The Windy Ridge") is an area in the north west of Inverness located in the Scottish Highlands. It sits between Kinmylies and Clachnaharry and is situated beside the Caledonian Canal at the Muirtown Locks.
Muirtown
Muirtown is an area in the west end of the city of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. It contains the Muirtown basin, and Muirtown Primary School. An expansion of the Caledonian Canal close to its northeastern termination, the Muirtown Basin lies between Clachnaharry and Muirtown a mile (1.5 km) northwest of Inverness city centre.
Inverness bus station
Inverness bus station serves and is in the city of Inverness, Scotland. The bus station is managed by the Highland Council. The bus station is situated at Farraline Park and can be accessed from Academy Street and Margaret Street. It is a short walk away from the Inverness railway station and the main shopping area. Permission was granted to demolish the existing bus station in 2000. It was then replaced with a new terminal building in the early 2000s.
Kessock Ferry
The Kessock Ferry used to ply between Inverness and the Black Isle, across the Beauly Firth. It was withdrawn on the opening of the Kessock Bridge in 1982.
