Kilmallie
Kilmallie is a civil parish in Lochaber, in the west highlands of Scotland. It is centred around the village of Caol, near Fort William and extends to Banavie and Corpach. It gives its name to the local shinty club, Kilmallie Shinty Club as well as two local churches, Kilmallie Free Church of Scotland and Kilmallie Parish Church of Scotland.
Siege of Fort William
The siege of Fort William, Scotland took place between 20 March and 3 April 1746. Prior to the siege the Jacobites had forced the surrender of Fort Augustus after a siege of just two days, from where they proceeded to Fort William with cannons they had taken from Fort Augustus. They arrived with siege cannon on 20 March and both Cameron of Lochiel and MacDonald of Keppoch wrote to their Jacobite leader, Charles Edward Stuart to tell him that they had declared war on the Clan Campbell.

Belford Hospital, locally known as The Belford, is a rural general hospital in Fort William, Lochaber, Scotland. It is run by NHS Highland and Argyll. The Belford provides secondary care to a local population of around 20 000, which can swell up to 60 000 during the summer. Currently, there are Consultant-led general medical and general surgical services. There is also a midwife-led Maternity Unit.

Scottish Six Days Trial
The Scottish Six Days Trial is an internationally recognised Motorcycle trials competition, which has been running since 1909 (with breaks for the two world wars) making it the oldest motorcycle trials event in the world. Motorcycle riders from all over the world compete in this extreme sport, covering as much as 100 miles a day on road and off-road routes around Lochaber on each of the six days.
West Highland Museum
The West Highland Museum, in the centre of Fort William, Scotland, tells the story of the mountainous West Highlands of Scotland and its people. It has seven rooms on three floors, with an extensive collection of exhibits relating to the Jacobites, including the eighteenth century "secret portrait" of Bonnie Prince Charlie. Later royalty is represented by a collection of Victoriana, including the Highland regalia gifted by Queen Victoria to her favourite servant, John Brown.
East Highland Way
The East Highland Way, developed in 2007, is a long distance walking route in Scotland that connects Fort William with the ski and mountain resort of Aviemore . The name is derived from the fact that the route terminates in Aviemore at the eastern edge of Highland region.
