Murder of Kriss Donald
Kriss Donald (2 July 1988 – 15 March 2004) was a Scottish fifteen-year-old white male who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered in Glasgow in 2004 by a gang of men of Pakistani descent, some of whom fled to Pakistan after the crime. Daanish Zahid, Imran Shahid, Zeeshan Shahid, and Mohammed Faisal Mustaq were later found guilty of racially motivated murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. A fifth participant in the crime was convicted of racially motivated violence and jailed for five years.

Parkhead Stadium railway station
Parkhead Stadium was a railway station in the east end of Glasgow. It was opened by the Caledonian Railway as Parkhead on 1 February 1897. In recognition of its proximity to the Celtic Park football stadium, by 1904, it was known as Parkhead (for Celtic Park); and it was also referred to in some timetables as Parkhead for Celtic Park. The station was renamed Parkhead Stadium by British Railway Board on 3 March 1952.
Cuningar Loop
The Cuningar Loop is a meander on the River Clyde at Dalmarnock. The first Glasgow Water Company's Act was obtained in 1806, and the company began to supply water early in 1809. Before the Victorian Loch Katrine aqueduct project was completed in the 1850s, it supplied water to Glasgow. Cuningar Loop was the location of several reservoirs that raised water from the Clyde and pumped it to a secondary reservoir at Sydney Street, from where it was distributed throughout the city.
The Forge Shopping Centre
The Forge Shopping Centre (also known as Parkhead Forge) exists in the east end of Glasgow in Parkhead. The shopping centre bore the name from the former William Beardmore and Company steel works site that had closed in 1976.
Parkhead Cross
Parkhead Cross is a major junction in the Parkhead area in the East End of the city of Glasgow, UK. It is the meeting point of Gallowgate, Duke Street, Westmuir Street, Tollcross Road and Burgher Street, which together form a turreted Edwardian five-way junction, including several fine buildings making the junction notable such as the former Glasgow Savings Bank. The junction can become very busy due to traffic for Football games at nearby Celtic Park.
Tollcross International Swimming Centre
The Tollcross International Swimming Centre is a swimming pool and leisure centre in Glasgow. It will host the Swimming events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. It has one Olympic standard 50 metre swimming pool, which is currently being extensively upgraded, and a second 50 metre pool is being added as a warm-up facility. The pool will reopen in the spring of 2013. The seating capacity of the Pool will be 2,000, rising to 5,000 with temporary seating during the Commonwealth Games.
