The park covers an area of 33 ha (81.5 acres), and consists mostly of woodland, with some grass and wildflower meadows in the southeast area of the park. The park was created from lands purchased by Glasgow City Council from Sir Archibald Campbell of Succoth, in 1922.
Ruchill Church Hall
Ruchill Church Hall, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, was built as a mission for the Free Church of Scotland and completed in 1899. It is located at 15/17 Shakespeare Street, a side road off Maryhill Road, Glasgow, Scotland, close to the bridge which takes Ruchill Street across the Forth and Clyde Canal to the Ruchill area, and near a shopping centre on the main road. The adjacent church closer to the canal was constructed later, designed by a different architect.
Kelvin Aqueduct
The Kelvin Aqueduct is an aqueduct in Glasgow, Scotland, which carries the Forth and Clyde Canal over the River Kelvin. It is 400 feet long and 70 feet high, and when opened in 1790 was Britain's largest. It is protected as a category A listed building.

Maryhill Barracks
Maryhill Barracks was built on 12 hectares of the Ruchill estate, in the Maryhill area of northern Glasgow, Scotland. It was opened as Garrioch Barracks in 1872. Built to accommodate an infantry regiment, a squadron of cavalry and a battery of field artillery, it dominated the area which is now the Wyndford housing estate. The barracks replaced the previous Infantry Barracks at Duke Street in the East End of the city, which dated from 1795.

It has changed location several times during its history, but has been based at Killermont in Bearsden since 21 May 1904.
