Scotland

A74(M) and M74 motorways
The A74(M) and M74 motorways form a major motorway in Scotland. Following an extension opened on 28 June 2011, it connects the M8 motorway west of Glasgow to the English border at Gretna, creating an alternative route for traffic moving from the south to the west of the city. In conjunction with the M6 motorway, it forms one of the two major cross-border routes between Scotland and England. It is part of the unsigned international E-road network E05.

The Kingston Bridge is a balanced cantilever dual-span ten lane road bridge made of triple-cell segmented prestressed concrete box girders crossing the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland. The largest urban bridge in the United Kingdom, it carries the M8 motorway through the city centre. The Kingston Bridge is also one of the busiest road bridges in Europe, carrying around 150,000 vehicles every day.

O2 Academy Glasgow
The O2 Academy Glasgow (formerly the Carling Academy Glasgow) is a music venue on Eglinton Street in the Gorbals area of Glasgow. It holds 2,500 people. It is one of two O2 Academies in Glasgow, the other Academy is the O2 ABC Glasgow. It was one of a group of music venues in Britain branded Carling Academy, the best known including the Brixton Academy and the O2 Academy Birmingham.
The Arches (Glasgow)
The Arches is a bar, arts venue, theatre, live music venue and nightclub in Glasgow, Scotland, which first opened in 1991. It is a not-for-profit organisation. It is situated in the City Centre under Glasgow Central station and the West Coast Main Line in the brick arches of the viaduct that leads into the station, with entrances on Midland Street, and since 2001, an entrance underneath Hielanman's Umbrella on Argyle Street.
The Garage (nightclub)
The Garage is a music venue and nightclub located at 490 Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow which opened in 1994. It is Scotland's largest nightclub. The Main Hall was formerly a ballroom known as The Mayfair, although it has since been remodelled by the addition of an extension to the mezzanine level. Apart from the Main Hall, other areas of the venue include the R'n'B-themed G2 club in the basement, the Indie rock-themed Attic, Snapshots Bar and The Engine Room Cocktail Bar.
Buchanan Street subway station
Buchanan Street subway station is a station on the Glasgow Subway in Scotland. It serves Buchanan Street, which is popular with shoppers. Close to Buchanan Bus Station and providing interchange with Glasgow Queen Street railway station via a travelator, it is the busiest station on the Subway, with 2.54 million passengers in the 12 months ending 31 March 2005. When built in 1896 the station had a single island platform serving both tracks.
West Street subway station
West Street subway station serves the Tradeston area of Glasgow, Scotland. The station will become a major interchange if the Glasgow Crossrail is given the green light. Left in an isolated industrial area by post-war reconstruction, it is the least busy station on the network with just 150,000 boardings in the 12 months to 31 March 2005. West Street was one of the Park and Ride stations. However, on 16 February 2008, the car park was closed as part of the M74 enabling works.
Bridge Street subway station
Bridge Street subway station serves Laurieston in Glasgow, Scotland. It is the main interchange between the Subway and buses travelling to and from the south side. It is the nearest subway station for the Citizens Theatre, O2 Academy Glasgow, Glasgow Sheriff Court and Glasgow Central Mosque. It was opened in 1896 and comprehensively modernised in 1977-1980. The station retains its original island platform configuration.
St Enoch subway station
St Enoch subway station is the first station on the north of the River Clyde on the Glasgow Subway. It is located in Glasgow city centre, Scotland. Although it does not have direct interchange with the main line railway, it is located approximately halfway between Glasgow Central station and Argyle Street railway station, within a few minutes' walk to both. Usage of the entire subway in 2007/08 was 14.45 million passengers, increased from 13.14 million in 2005/06.
Optimo
Optimo (Espacio) ('Optimum Space') was a weekly Sunday-night club based in Glasgow, Scotland at the Sub Club on Jamaica Street, as well as a collective moniker for the night's resident DJ duo. Having run every week since it was founded in 1997, on Thursday 11 March 2010, it was announced on the official Facebook page that the weekly nights would come to an end on Sunday 25 April 2010. However, JD Twitch and JG Wilkes would continue to tour, promote and release music as Optimo.
Alhambra Theatre Glasgow
The Alhambra Theatre Glasgow opened on 19 December 1910 at the corner of Waterloo Street and Wellington Street, Glasgow under the direction of Sir Alfred Butt and was acknowledged as one of the best equipped theatres in Britain, planned to accommodate 2,800 people. . The Theatre was designed by architect, Sir John James Burnet. It was built on the site of the popular Waterloo Rooms, which had previously been Wellington Street Church.
Glasgow Bridge, Glasgow
The Glasgow Bridge spans the River Clyde in Glasgow. It is at the bottom of Jamaica Street, near Central Station, and is colloquially known as the Jamaica Bridge. The original bridge was completed in 1772, and was designed by William Mylne and built by John Smeaton. Its seven-arch structure was honoured by Thomas Telford, who replaced it in 1833 with a design built by John Gibb & Son for £34,000. It became the first in Glasgow to be lit by electricity.
Sub Club
The Sub Club is a club and music venue located at 22 Jamaica Street in Glasgow, Scotland. It opened 1 April 1987 and is the longest running underground dance club in the world. The 3,500-square-foot basement space can legally hold up to 400 people. In 2008 it was voted the 10th best club in the world by Resident Advisor(though 5th for atmosphere) and the 30th best club in the world by DJMag. In 2009 the club was placed at 14th best in the world by DJ Mag. I love the Sub Club.
Hielanman's Umbrella
The Hielanman's Umbrella (English: Highlandman's Umbrella) is a famous landmark in the centre of Glasgow, Scotland. It is the local Scots nickname for the glass walled railway bridge which carries the platforms of Glasgow Central station across Argyle Street. Due to the forced displacement of people during the second phase of the Highland clearances in the 19th century, 30,000 Highlanders who spoke Scottish Gaelic but did not speak English came to Glasgow to find work.
Tradeston Bridge
The Tradeston Bridge (colloquially known as Squiggly Bridge) is a pedestrian bridge across the River Clyde in Glasgow which opened on 14 May 2009. It links the districts of Anderston (on the north bank) to Tradeston (on the south bank) - the aim of the bridge being to aid the regeneration of Tradeston by giving it a direct link to the city's financial district on the western side of the city centre.
The Glasgow Gaiety Theatre
The Glasgow Gaiety Theatre was a cine-theatre in Anderston Cross, Glasgow, Scotland. Originally known as the Tivoli Variety Theatre, and co-founded by a grandson of James Baylis of the Theatre Royal, Glasgow it opened in 1899 presenting Musicals, variety shows and pantomimes. When it was rebuilt in 1904 it changed to operate as a cine-variety under the name of Gaiety Theatre, becoming a full cinema in 1935. The cinema closed in 1960.
Argyle Street, Glasgow
Argyle Street is a major thoroughfare in the city centre of Glasgow, Scotland. With Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street, Argyle Street forms the main shopping artery in the city centre. It is the longest street by distance in the city centre, running for almost two and a half miles. Originally known as Westergait, Argyle Street led west from Trongate to the city's West Port, the western gate out of the city's walls.
George V Bridge, Glasgow
George V Bridge (sometimes referred to as King George V Bridge) is a three-arched road bridge over the River Clyde in the city centre of Glasgow, Scotland, named after King George V. The bridge was designed by Thomas Somers and links the southside Tradeston area to Oswald Street in the city Centre. The Bridge was commissioned in 1914, but was delayed due to the First World War, the bridge was not completed and opened until 1928. It is now protected as a category B listed building.
Anderston Centre
The Anderston Centre (originally styled as the Anderston Cross Commercial Centre, but now officially branded as Cadogan Square) is a mixed-use commercial and residential complex, and former bus station located in the Anderston area of Glasgow, Scotland.
Argyle Building, Glasgow
The Argyle Building is a mid-rise residential skyscraper in the Anderston district within the centre of Glasgow, Scotland. Completed in 2008, it is among the highest buildings currently standing within the city's central area and occupies a prominent spot next to the Kingston Bridge and the M8 motorway. It can be seen prominently in the background of BBC Scotland television news bulletins.
Caledonian Railway Bridge
The Caledonian Railway Bridge is a bridge crossing the River Clyde at Broomielaw in Scotland. It was built in 1899-1905.
