Nitshill

Nitshill is a district on the south side of Glasgow. It is north of South Nitshill, south of Crookston, and southwest of Silverburn and Pollok. Nitshill was originally a coal mining village. The Nitshill Colliery was the scene of one of Scotland's worst mining disasters—on March 15, 1851 in which 61 men and boys died. The village fell within the county of Renfrewshire until about the 1920s, when it was incorporated into the City of Glasgow.

Pollok Country Park

Pollok Country Park is a 146-hectare country park located in Pollok, south Glasgow (though before the building of the M77 motorway in 1994, it was the largest urban green space in Europe). In 2006 Pollok County Park was named the best park in Britain and in 2008, it was named the Best Park in Europe, beating off strong competition from parks in Italy, France, Germany, Poland and Sweden.

Pollok House

Pollok House is the ancestral home of the Maxwell family, located in Pollok Country Park, Glasgow, Scotland. The house - built in 1752 and designed by William Adam - was gifted to the City of Glasgow in 1966 by Dame Anne Maxwell Macdonald, whose family had owned the estate for almost 700 years. It is now managed by the National Trust for Scotland and is open to the public.

Priesthill

Priesthill is a district south of the River Clyde in the Scottish city of Glasgow. Priesthill was one of the earliest attempts made by the Glasgow local government to relocate families from the central tenements of Gorbals, Pollokshaws and other districts. Several homeless families were housed there in or around 1948–1950. Priesthill was first mentioned in ancient text as a farm community owned by Walter Steward the progenitor of later Stuart kings and queens.

Bellahouston Park is a public park in the South Side of Glasgow, Scotland, between the areas of Craigton, Dumbreck, Ibrox and Mosspark covering an area of 71 hectares . It is based around Ibrox hill in the centre, with commanding views over most of the city, exceptions being views to the east that are obscured by trees and to the south by hills in Mosspark. House for an Art Lover

The House for an Art Lover is a building based on a design produced in 1901 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh with his wife, Margaret MacDonald. The building is situated in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow, Scotland. Construction began in 1989 and the house was finally opened to the public in 1996. Mackintosh's original designs were interpreted and realised by John Kane and Graeme Robertson (up to 1990) under Andrew MacMillan, with contributions by many contemporary artists.

Tait Tower

Tait Tower (also known as Tait's Tower and officially as the Tower of Empire) was a tower in the art deco style constructed at the summit of Ibrox Hill in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow in Scotland as part of the Empire Exhibition, Scotland 1938. It was designed by Thomas S. Tait, stood 300 feet high (91.44 metres) and had three separate observation decks which provided a view of the surrounding gardens and city.

Empire Exhibition, Scotland 1938 (unofficially known as the British Empire Exhibition, Glasgow) was an international exposition held at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow, from May to December 1938. The Exhibition marked fifty years since Glasgow's first great exhibition, the International Exhibition (1888) held at Kelvingrove Park. It also offered a chance to boost the economy of Scotland, recovering from the depression of the 1930s.

Woodfarm

Woodfarm is a residential district within East Renfrewshire, Scotland, located roughly 6 miles to the south of Glasgow.
