Stratheden
Stratheden is a hamlet 2 miles west of Cupar, and just north of Springfield, in Fife, Scotland. The hamlet comprises a psychiatric hospital and Stratheden Cottages, which were originally built to house the hospital staff. The hospital was built as the Fife and Kinross District Lunatic Asylum in the 1860s. It has also been known as Cupar Asylum and Springfield Asylum. The Scots Porridge Oats factory is located nearby, as is Elmwood Farm, the first fully organic farm in Scotland.
Springfield, Fife
The small village of Springfield (population less than 1,000) lies at the edge of the Howe of Fife, to the south of the town of Cupar, Fife, Scotland. The origin of the community is thought to be from the linen industry in the 19th century. The Church of Scotland parish church was built in 1861 (and now shares a minister with nearby Ceres and Kemback). The church garden was originally intended to be a cemetery, but the high water table prevented this.

Balmalcolm is a village in Fife, Kettle Parish, Scotland, situated exactly in the middle of Kingdom of Fife on A92 between Glenrothes and Cupar. The village was built in the 18th century and it is a local farming centre. It is home to a large vegetable packing and distribution factory Kettle Produce.
Crawford Priory
Crawford Priory is a country house about 2 miles south west of Cupar, Fife, Scotland. It is a former residence of the Earls of Crawford, Earls of Glasgow and Barons Cochrane of Cults. It lies just outside the village of Springfield. Originally built as Crawford Lodge by the 21st Earl of Crawford in 1758, it was substantially enlarged and extended in the early nineteenth century by a sister of the 22nd Earl, Lady Mary Lindsay Crawford.
Kingskettle
Kingskettle is a small village in Fife, Scotland. It is situated in the Howe of Fife, around a mile south of Ladybank. It is home to The Singing Kettle shop. The railway station was permanently closed in 1967.
Cults, Fife
Cults, Fife is a small parish in the centre of the County of Fife. It lies mainly in "the Howe of Fife," and about 4½ miles SW of Cupar. The parish is about 2⅓ miles long and 1⅓ miles wide. It contains various villages and hamlets including Cults, Ladybank, Kingskettle, Kettlebridge, Pitlessie, Collessie, Crossgates and Walton. The Church of Scotland has now included Cults in the wider "Howe of Fife Parish" which has the churches of Ladybank, Cults, Kettle and Collessie.
