River Leven, Fife
The River Leven (Scottish Gaelic: Lìobhann / Abhainn Lìobhann) is a river in Fife in Scotland. It flows from Loch Leven into the Firth of Forth at the town of Leven. The river is home to brown trout and hosts a run of sea trout and atlantic salmon. The estuary has bass and mullet. In previous centuries its water was used to power linen mills on its banks, particularly near Markinch, as well as three paper mills: Smith Anderson in Leslie, and Tullis Russell and John Dixon of Markinch.

Milton of Balgonie's is a primary school in Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland. Its original building was opened in 1823 with subsequent additions and extensions added in 1880,1924 & 1962. The school is situated off the bypass between Windygates and Glenrothes. The school's accommodation comprises one very large classroom where P1- P4 are taught and another classroom which accommodates P5 - P7. The original 1823 classroom now doubles as our hall and dining hall. The school playground is all-tarmac.

Milton of Balgonie is a small village in central Fife, Scotland. It is situated 2 miles to the east of Glenrothes between the nearby villages of Markinch and Coaltown of Balgonie to the west and Windygates to the east. Nearby attractions include Balgonie Castle which is situated between Milton and Coaltown. The ruins of Milton house remain within the woodland of this village where Mary, Queen of Scots sometimes resided.
Coaltown of Wemyss
The Coaltown of Wemyss is the closest village to Wemyss Castle, Fife, Scotland. "The Coaltown" has a primary school, some small shops, the Earl David Hotel, named after David Wemyss, 2nd Earl of Wemyss and cottages originally built for mineworkers. Close to the village are now-unworked deep coal mine workings. There is a gateway leading towards Wemyss Castle. Wemyss Castle is not open to the public but Wemyss Castle Gardens are open 1 April to 31 July.
