St Athernase Church
St Athernase Church is a Romanesque church located in Leuchars, Fife, Scotland. It remains in use as a Church of Scotland parish church and the current minister (since 2003) is the Reverend Caroline Taylor. The chancel and half-round apse date from the 12th century with the exterior featuring blind arcades with typical Norman arches. The church, dedicated to the little known St Athernase, was granted by Ness, Lord of Lochore, to the canons of St Andrews in 1185.

Leuchars Castle
Leuchars Castle, was a castle that was located near Leuchars, Fife, Scotland. A motte and bailey castle was built in the 12th century. The town was created a barony in the time of King William the Lion. The castle was built of stone in the 13th century. Gilbert Marshal, Earl of Pembroke, attacked and slighted the castle in 1327. The castle was besieged and attacked in 1337 by forces of Sir Andrew Murray and the English garrison surrendered.
