Broughton is an ancient feudal barony today within the City of Edinburgh, Scotland that was once known for its witchcraft. Its borders are defined, approximately, as being Leith Walk in the south east, Broughton Street in the south west, Broughton Road in the north west and McDonald Road in the north east. The Edinburgh LGBT Centre is a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community centre located at 58a/60 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, Scotland. The Centre was bought in 1974 by the Scottish Minorities Group, and remains the only LGBT-owned LGBT Centre in the UK. It is the oldest LGBT Centre in Europe. The Centre consists of a street-level café and basement with offices and a meeting room. It is used by many LGBT community groups and organisations, including Pride Scotia Edinburgh.

St Paul's and St George's Church
St Paul's and St George's Church (known colloquially as "Ps and Gs") is a church of the Scottish Episcopal Church in central Edinburgh, Scotland. It is located on York Place in the east end of Edinburgh's New Town, and is protected as a category A listed building. The building was erected as St Paul's Church, replacing a chapel in the Cowgate. It was designed by Archibald Elliot between 1816 and 1818, and was extended by Peddie and Kinnear in the 1890s.

St Andrew Square tram stop
St Andrew Square tram stop is a planned Edinburgh Trams stops serving the Princes Street area of Edinburgh. The stop (and the entire tram line) are expected to open in mid 2014. The stop was intended to be one on the line from Edinburgh Airport to Newhaven, but when the planned network was truncated to a single route from the airport to the city centre it became the new terminus. Due to the cost overruns, the route between Haymarket and St Andrew Square was cancelled in August 2011.

It will be the eastern terminus of the line and will be located in York Place, Edinburgh, outside St Paul's and St George's Church and close to the junctions with Picardy Place and Broughton Street. The stop (and the entire tram line) are expected to open in mid 2014.

The Edinburgh Assay Office is the last remaining Assay Office in Scotland and one of four which remain in the United Kingdom. The history of hallmarking at the Edinburgh Assay Office can be traced back to 1457 when the first hallmarking act of Scotland was created. It is an independent privately run business, owned by the Incorporation of Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh.
