B800 road
The B800 is a short road in eastern Scotland, connecting the Forth Road Bridge to Kirkliston. It is a two-way single carriageway road. It was formerly known as the A8000, when it was the main road from the bridge to the M9 motorway and the M8 motorway. The A8000 was under the control of the City of Edinburgh Council, not a Trunk Road under the control of the Scottish Executive.

Ratho Station
Ratho Station is a suburb of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. It is located south of Edinburgh Airport; the community has a population of approximately 600. About 300 houses are within the village limit. The name derives from the closed railway station of the same name, which in 1917 was the site of a rail crash which killed 12 people. The local primary school is Hillwood Primary School, which replaced the now closed Newbridge Primary School in 1972.

The Royal Highland Show is Scotland's annual farming and countryside showcase. It is held annually at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston over the second-last weekend in June (Thursday - Sunday), the event attracts over 1,000 exhibitors, 4,500 head of livestock, and an annual between 160,000 and 185,000 visitors and the premier fixture in Scotland's farming calendar. Royal Highland Showground
The Royal Highland Centre (or Royal Highland Showground) is the exhibition centre and showgrounds located at Ingliston west of Edinburgh, Scotland, adjacent to Edinburgh Airport and the A8. Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) purchased the land in 1958 for £55'000, and after 2 years of infrastructure work including new roadway and improve electrical supplies, the 300 acres site was formally opened in 1960.

Edinburgh International Climbing Arena
Edinburgh International Climbing Arena is an adventure sports facility located in Ratho, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland. When it opened, it was the largest indoor climbing arena in the world. The centre opened in 2003, but in 2005 the company running it went into receivership, and the centre was temporarily closed. In 2007 the centre reopened under a new owner, Edinburgh Leisure, a not-for-profit company part-funded by City of Edinburgh Council.
Ratho rail crash
The Ratho Rail crash occurred on 3 January 1917 and killed 12 people. It occurred near Ratho Station in Scotland when an express collided with a light engine in stormy weather. Just west of the station lay Queensferry Junction where the line from Dalmeny via Kirkliston (now lifted) joined from the north. A train from Dalmeny came to a stand opposite the junction signalbox. The signalman had intended to keep it there until the 16:18 express from Edinburgh to Glasgow had passed.
