Airds Moss
Airds Moss is a moor in East Ayrshire, between the rivers Ayr and Lugar. Its blanket bogs have caused it to be designated as a Special Area of Conservation. Richard Cameron died here in a skirmish on 22 July 1680 in which a number of other prominent Covenanters were either killed or captured.

Lugar is a small village in East Ayrshire, southwest Scotland. Lugar is in Auchinleck Parish, Kyle District, Ayrshire. It is 1.5 miles ENE of Cumnock, and about 1-mile from Cronberry and 2 miles from Gasswater. Lugar is a station on the Mauchline and Muirkirk branch of the Glasgow and South Western Railway. Lugar is about 16.5 miles SE of Kilmarnock. Lugar was once dominated by a large ironworks with several blast furnaces.

Medieval turf building in Cronberry
Excavations in Cronberry East Ayrshire, Scotland by Headland Archaeology revealed a medieval turf building and a nearby enclosure of unknown date. The turf structure was sub-rectangular and contained a hearth surrounded by some paving. Pottery dating to no later than the 16th century was recovered from the interior. The enclosure was also constructed of turf. The full plan of the turf building was exposed during excavation.

Woodroad Viaduct
The Woodroad Viaduct, also known as Bank or Templand Viaduct, is a viaduct carrying the Glasgow South Western Line over the Lugar Water at Cumnock in East Ayrshire. It has 13 arches and was built in 1850 to designs by John Millar. It is a category A listed building.
Glaisnock Viaduct
The Glaisnock Viaduct is a viaduct over the Glaisnock Water, on the former Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway. It is located in Cumnock, East Ayrshire. The viaduct was built around 1870 and has 13 arches. It is now part of a footpath, as the railway was removed in 1964. It is a category B listed building.
