Sorn
Sorn is a small village in East Ayrshire, Scotland. It is situated on the River Ayr. It has a population of roughly 350. Local services include: a pub, a church, a general store, a motorbike shop and a television shop. There is also a village hall and a bowling green and primary school. In November 2007 the School was threatened with closure by East Ayrshire Council - see Save Sorn School Campaign website. Sorn is known for its success in the Britain in Bloom competition.

The Glaisnock Viaduct is a viaduct over the Glaisnock Water, on the former Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway. It is located in Cumnock, East Ayrshire. The viaduct was built around 1870 and has 13 arches. It is now part of a footpath, as the railway was removed in 1964. It is a category B listed building.
Barony A Frame
The Barony A Frame is a preserved headgear in East Ayrshire, Scotland, located 2 kilometres west of Auchinleck. It was built in 1954 as part of the modernisation of the Barony Colliery, which had been opened in 1907. The colliery closed in 1989, and in 1990 the winding engine houses, generating station and water-treatment works, as well as the A frame, were given listed building status, as category B listed structures.
