Overgate Centre
The Overgate Centre is a shopping centre in Dundee, Scotland. Built in the 1960s to replace buildings erected in the 18th and 19th centuries, much of the original structure (e.g. the Angus Hotel) was demolished and redeveloped from 1998-2000. The centre reopened as a fully enclosed shopping mall in 2000 and follows the same basic structure as the 1960s layout. It is the only single-sided shopping mall in Europe.
Dundee Parish Church (St Mary's)
Dundee Parish Church (St Mary’s) is located in the east section of Dundee's "City Churches", the other being occupied by the Steeple Church. Both are congregations in the Church of Scotland, although with differing styles of worship. Dundee played an important role in the Reformation, and John Knox asserts in his History of the Reformation that "the first face of a public church Reformed" was that of St Mary's in Dundee, by 1556.
Diocese of Brechin (Episcopal)
The Diocese of Brechin is in the east of Scotland, and is the smallest of the seven dioceses of the Scottish Episcopal Church. It covers the City of Dundee, Angus and southern Aberdeenshire. It stretches from Muchalls in the north east down to Dundee in the south, and across to Glencarse in the south west. The Cathedral and administrative centre is St Paul’s Cathedral in Dundee. The diocese continues to be named after its mediaeval centre of Brechin.

Steeple Church
The Steeple Church occupies the western part of the historic "City Churches" building in Dundee, Scotland. It is a congregation of the Church of Scotland. It has lively, vibrant worship and attracts some university students. The "City Churches" are located in the city centre, adjacent to the Overgate shopping centre. The building is unusual as having two congregations within the same structure - the other congregation (at the eastern end) is Dundee Parish Church (St Mary's).
Wellgate Centre
The Wellgate Shopping Centre is one of the two main shopping centres located in the city centre of Dundee, Scotland, the other being the Overgate Centre. It comprises three floors, including a food court. The centre has a variety of retailers and eateries, principally BHS which operates a two-level store at the entrance of the mall. The Dundee Central Library is even adjacent to the third floor of the centre, which is level with Victoria Road.
1906 Dundee fire
In July 1906, the city of Dundee was the site of a large fire caused by the ignition of a bonded warehouse. The fire, which burned for 12 hours, has been described as the most destructive fire in the history of Dundee. The fire was described by an eyewitness as sending "rivers of burning whisky" through the city.
