The Craigendarroch Resort in Ballater, Scotland is a resort complex close to the banks of the River Dee. It is located on a hillside just west of the village of Ballater, 42 miles west of Aberdeen and is 17 miles to the east of Braemar. Knock Castle, Aberdeenshire
Knock Castle is a ruined tower house in Aberdeenshire, north-east Scotland. It is typical of the traditional type of residence of a laird, a Scottish landed gentleman. The Castle sits in a strong position on a knoll in a field on the south side of Craig of the Knock, at the entrance to Glen Muick. It is located about 1 mile west of the town of Ballater, and about 6 miles east of Balmoral, just off the A93. The castle is in the care of Historic Scotland.

Battle of Tullich
The Battle of Tullich, in 1652, also known as the Battle of the Pass near Tullich was part of the Royalist rising of 1651 to 1654 in Scotland, which itself was part of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms. Scottish royalist forces who supported William Cunningham, 9th Earl of Glencairn fought against an English parliamentarian force who were loyal to Oliver Cromwell. The Scottish royalists were mainly from Clan Cameron who were under the command of their chief, Ewen Cameron of Lochiel.
