Brig o' Balgownie

The Brig o' Balgownie (originally Bridge of Don) is a 13th-century bridge spanning the River Don in Old Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland. Construction of the bridge was begun in the late 13th century by Richard Cementarius, although its completion was not until 1320 at the time of the Scottish War of Independence. After falling into disrepair in the mid 16th century it was extensively renovated in 1605. Throughout its history the bridge has been considered an important asset.

Cruickshank Botanic Garden

Royal Aberdeen Golf Club

Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in Aberdeen, Scotland, was founded in 1780 and claims to be the sixth oldest golf club in the world. It was founded as the Society of Golfers at Aberdeen, and became the Aberdeen Golf Club in 1815. The members played on Aberdeen's Queen's Links and over the its Broad Hill until 1888, when they moved to new links at Balgownie, two miles north of the city. The Balgownie course was designed by Archie Simpson and Robert Simpson, and was later remodelled by James Braid.

Seaton Park

Seaton Park is located in Aberdeen, Scotland and is one of the city's biggest parks. It was bought by the city for use as a public park in 1947 from Major Hay. Scotstown Moor in the north of Aberdeen, Scotland, was designated as a local nature reserve in 1994 because of its rich wildlife. Scotstown Moor Local Nature Reserve (LNR) is located four miles to the north of Aberdeen City Centre, near the residential areas of Dubford and Bridge of Don, at grid reference NJ 935116. The reserve covers roughly 34 hectares and is owned by Aberdeen City Council, who established it as a nature reserve in 1994.

Bridge of Don (bridge)

The Bridge of Don is a five-arch granite bridge crossing the River Don just above its mouth in Aberdeen, Scotland. It was built 1825, and later gave its name to the suburb of the city on the north bank. The original design by John Smith was modified by Thomas Telford. It currently carries four lanes of the A956 road, and is protected as a Category B listed building.

Gordon Barracks

Gordon Barracks are situated in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen. Built by J and W Wittet, circa 1935, the barracks buildings are located around the barrack square. Constructed of dressed granite blocks, the two-storey central block, once used as the Junior Ranks Club, is typical of the style with three bays and being rectangular in shape. The roof is crowstepped and slated. It has very grand Royal coated arms tripartite above with pediment detail.
