Charlemont is a small village in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It had a population of 150 people in the 2001 Census. It is situated within the Armagh City and District Council area. Charlemont Bridge joins the villages of Charlemont on the east bank of the River Blackwater and Moy on the west.

Charlemont Bridge

Charlemont Bridge is a stone bridge in Moy, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland The bridge spans the River Blackwater connecting the villages of Moy and Charlemont (on the east bank) on the old coaching route between Dungannon and Armagh. It is a triple-arched stone bridge constructed in 1855 by William Dargan, who was also responsible for the Portadown to Dungannon section of the Ulster Railway.

St. Peter's Primary School is a primary school located in Collegeland, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It serves the Collegeland, Loughgall and Charlemont communities. The school was set up following the amalgamation of Loughgall and Collegeland primary schools in 1996 and was established on the Collegeland site. It is within the Southern Education and Library Board area. Its current Principal is Jim Mc Alinden.

Charlemont Fort

Charlemont Fort was a garrison built in Charlemont, County Armagh in 1602 by Lord Mountjoy. It was destroyed in 1920 by fire and the only building remaining today is the gatehouse. The name Charlemont came from Charles Blount's Christian name. It was situated on the Armagh bank of the River Blackwater, it was armed with 150 men under the command of Sir Toby Caulfield, whose descendants took the name Charlemont from the place.

Roxborough Castle

Roxborough Castle was a castle in Moy, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland originally built in 1738. It was the seat of the Earls of Charlemont, along with Charlemont Fort, and was burned out by a gang of Irish republicans in 1922. Originally built in the 18th Century it was remodeled by the second Earl in 1842, his architect being William Murray.

Siege of Charlemont

The Siege of Charlemont took place in July – August 1650 during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland when the fortress of Charlemont in County Armagh, Ireland was besieged by Charles Coote's Parliamentarian army, which was largely composed of soldiers of the New Model Army. The force led by Coote eventually took the fort from its Irish defenders, but not before they suffered heavy losses, with some 5-800 Parliamentarian Soldiers being killed during assaults on the formidable stronghold.
