Bangor Abbey
Bangor Abbey was established by Saint Comgall in 558 in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland and was famous for its learning and austere rule. It is not to be confused with the even older abbey in Wales on the site of Bangor Cathedral. Bangor Abbey was a centre of learning which trained missionaries in the Middle Ages. It used to be called the "Light of the World". It was from here that St. Columbanus set out on his famous missionary journey to Europe.
Bangor Marina
Bangor Marina is the second largest marina in Ireland and is situated on the southern shores of Belfast Lough close to the Irish Sea cruising routes. The Marina has become well known since opening in 1989 for providing a safe berth in the centre of Bangor, a pleasant town with many attractions. The Marina is one of 73 marinas internationally that has been awarded Five Anchors by the Yachting Harbour Association.
Bangor Castle
Bangor Castle in Bangor, Northern Ireland, was completed in 1852 for The Hon Robert Edward Ward. This imposing building is not so much a castle as an elegant mansion in the Elizabethan-Jacobean revival style. It has 35 bedrooms and incorporates a huge salon for musical recitals. When the then municipal authority, Bangor Borough Council, acquired the Castle and grounds, the music saloon became the Council Chamber.
Ward Park
Ward Park is situated in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. The 37 acre park contains 10 tennis courts, a duck pond and a selection of wildfowl housed in breeding pens. On the 1 September 2007, the Northern Irish band Snow Patrol performed a special gig at Ward Park to a crowd of 30,000 people, supported by Ash, We Are Scientists and various other smaller bands. In Summer 2010 Snow Patrol returned to Ward Park, Bangor with an estimated crowd of 40,000 people.
Tonic Cinema
The Tonic Cinema was built in 1936 in Bangor, Northern Ireland. At the time it was the largest Cinema in Ireland with 2,001 seats. It was demolished in 1992 following a fire. The old Compton Theatre Organ, formerly in the Tonic Cinema, is now in the care of Bangor Academy School.
Bangor Old Custom House
The Old Custom House of Bangor is a 17th century tower and adjoining tower house. It is situated on the seafront in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. It is a well preserved reminder of Bangor's seafaring history alongside its modern marina. Originally built as a custom house by James Hamilton, 1st Viscount Claneboye in 1637, the architecture of the tower is unique in Bangor and rare in Ulster.

McKee Clock
The McKee Clock is a clock tower in the town of Bangor, Northern Ireland. Situated at the foot of High Street in the marina's sunken gardens in an area known as the "McKee Clock Arena", the clock is named for its benefactor William McKee, a local rates collector who donated £200 (a very large sum of money at the time) towards its construction. The clock was designed by Mr Bell, the town's surveyor, and built in 1915 by John McNeilly from stone quarried at Ballycullen, near Newtownards.

Glenlola Collegiate School
Glenlola Collegiate School is an all-girls' grammar school in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland. The school was founded as a school for girls in approximately 1880. It has achieved some of the best exam and extracurricular results in the region. On 28 May 2003, a new school opened, including a pre-school playgroup and Cygnet House. The official opening was performed by HRH The Duke of York on 8 October 2003.
