Danelaw
The Danelaw, as recorded in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, is a historical name given to the part of England in which the laws of the "Danes" held sway and dominated those of the Anglo-Saxons. It is contrasted with "West Saxon law" and "Mercian law". The term has been extended by modern historians to be geographical. The areas that comprised the Danelaw are in northern and eastern England.
Heslington Church
Heslington Church is in the parish (and village) of Heslington, near York, England. As well as the village and some more modern housing estates, the church also serves some outlying farms. The Heslington campus of the University of York is also in the parish. It is a local ecumenical partnership between the Church of England and the Methodist Church, making it one of few joint Methodist/Anglican churches.

Derwent College
Derwent College is a college of the University of York, one of the first two colleges (along with Langwith) to be opened following the university's inception. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 22 October 1965. Derwent College is home to the University's Politics and Philosophy departments. The college itself is on the fringe of the campus, lying next to Heslington Hall, and close to the gazebo and gardens known collectively as The Quiet Place.
Heslington Hall
Heslington Hall is a grade II listed rebuilt manor house near the village of Heslington, North Yorkshire, England, within the city of York. The hall is located on the campus of the University of York. The present Victorian building comprises a central nine bay two-storey block with attics and two two-storey wings at each end. It is built of brick in English bond with sandstone ashlar dressings.
Derwenthorpe
Derwenthorpe is a controversial housing development planned to be built on the edge of York, England. The Joseph Rowntree Foundation have submitted plans to build 500 homes on land west of Metcalf Lane. The development was originally to be called New Osbaldwick but was changed to be named after the Derwent Valley Light Railway that used to run along the site. The site is located between the villages of Osbaldwick, Heworth and Tang Hall.
Heworth Without
Heworth Without is a civil parish in the City of York, North Yorkshire, England consisting of those parts of Heworth that lay beyond the (pre-1996) city boundary. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 2,283. Prior to 1996 it had been part of the Ryedale district.
Yorkshire Museum of Farming
The Yorkshire Museum of Farming is located in Murton Park near York in England. It is housed on a grass field site of approximately 14 acres, and is the only museum in the district specifically dedicated to the subject of farming. In the autumn of 2010, the museum was awarded full accreditation status by the Museums Libraries and archives Council (MLA). The museum has built up a large collection of artefacts that illustrate the history of farm mechanisation.
