Bidston Windmill
Bidston Windmill is situated on Bidston Hill, near Birkenhead, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. It is believed that there has been a windmill on this site since 1596. The mill was ideally placed to catch the wind, but difficult to access by cart. The previous structure, a wooden peg mill, was destroyed by fire in 1791 (although some sources state 1793).
Wirral Peninsula
Wirral or the Wirral /ˈwɪrəl/ is a peninsula in North West England. It is bounded to the west by the River Dee, forming a boundary with Wales, to the east by the River Mersey and to the north by the Irish Sea. Most of the Peninsular belongs to the Liverpool City region. Both terms "Wirral" and "the Wirral" are used locally (and interchangeably), although the merits of each form are debated. The roughly rectangular peninsula is about 15 miles long and 7 miles wide.
Wirral Country Park
The Wirral Country Park is a country park on the Wirral Peninsula, England, lying both in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral and the county of Cheshire. It was the first designated country park in Britain, opening in 1973. The park is based around the Wirral Way, which follows the track bed of part of the former Birkenhead Railway route from West Kirby to Hooton.
Bidston Hill
Bidston Hill is 100 acres of heathland and woodland that contains historic buildings and ancient rock carvings. It is located on the Wirral Peninsula, near the Birkenhead suburb of Bidston, in Merseyside, England. With a peak of 231 feet, Bidston Hill is one of the highest points on the Wirral. The land was part of Lord Vyner's estate and purchased by Birkenhead Corporation in 1894 for use by the public.

Wirral Rural District
Wirral was a rural district in Cheshire, England from 1894 to 1933. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894 from the Wirral rural sanitary district. The parishes of Landican and Prenton became part of the county borough of Birkenhead in 1928.
Thurstaston Common
Royden Park and Thurstaston Common comprise an area of almost 250 acres of parklands, wood and heath at Frankby and Thurstaston respectively, within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, England. The Common is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a designated Local Nature Reserve. From the top of the 298 ft Thurstaston Hill, on the Wirral Peninsula, are views of the Dee Estuary (itself an SSSI) and over the River Dee to the Clwydian Hills of Wales.

Heswall Dales is an area of some 72 acres of lowland heath situated close to Heswall on the Wirral Peninsula, England. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Local Nature Reserve. Heswall Dales offers views of the Dee Estuary and over the River Dee the Clwydian Hills of Wales.

Larton
Larton is a hamlet, located next to Frankby and near to West Kirby, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. The name is of Viking origin, deriving from the Old Norse Leir-tun, meaning 'clay farmstead'. Larton was formerly part of Newton-cum-Larton, in the West Kirby parish of the Wirral Hundred. Its population was 49 in 1801 and 44 in 1851. Today, Newton is again regarded as a separate entity from Larton and is a district of West Kirby.
Dingesmere
Dingesmere is a place known only from the Old English poem of the Battle of Brunanburh. The name is found in versions of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle from the year 937. The location has been cited as being situated on the Dee Estuary at Heswall, Wirral. Another possible location is Lingham, on the Irish Sea coastline of Wirral at Moreton.
Meols Meadows
Meols Meadows is a 7.1 hectare Site of Special Scientific Interest on the Wirral Peninsula, England. It is situated near to the town of Moreton and 8 km north west of Birkenhead. The site was notified in 1988 due to its biological features which is predominately damp unimproved neutral grassland, and is the best example of this MG5 community in Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

The Dungeon is a 1.2 hectare Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) situated 1 mile north-west of Heswall, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. The site was notified in 1988 due to its geological features which show the Tarporley Siltstone Formation of the Mercia Mudstone Group.
Thurstaston railway station
Thurstaston railway station was a station on the single track Hooton to West Kirby branch of the Birkenhead Railway, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. The station served the village of Thurstaston situated to the north east. The Birkenhead Railway, owned jointly by the Great Western Railway (GWR) and London and North Western Railway (LNWR), had initially opened a branch line from Hooton to Parkgate in 1866.

The station served the village of Parkgate. The Birkenhead Railway, owned jointly by the Great Western Railway (GWR) and London and North Western Railway (LNWR), opened a branch line from Hooton to Parkgate on 1 October 1866. An extension to West Kirby was completed twenty years later.

Hill Bark Farmhouse

The farmhouse was built in 1875 for Septimus Ledward and designed by the Chester architect John Douglas. It was part of a model farm for Hill Bark. The house is constructed in stone with some timber framing and has a tiled roof.

Cleaver Heath Nature Reserve
Cleaver Heath Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in Heswall, on the Wirral Peninsula, managed by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. It forms part of the Heswall Dales Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Heswall Dales is regarded as the second best example of lowland heath in Merseyside, hosting localised species including Western Gorse Ulex gallii, Many-stalked Spike Rush Eleocharis multicaulis and Green-ribbed Sedge Carex binervis. Common lizards are also present.
St Thomas' Church, Parkgate
St Thomas' Church, Parkgate, is located in School Lane, Parkgate, Cheshire, England. It is an Anglican chapel of ease in the parish of St Mary and St Helen, Neston, the deanery of Wirral South, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the diocese of Chester. The church is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building. Because of its earlier associations with the fishing community, it has been called the "Fisherman's Church".
Arrowe Park Hospital
Arrowe Park Hospital (APH) is a large, acute hospital, located on a 15-acre (6.1 ha) section of Arrowe Park, close to the village of Upton, Wirral. It is one of two sites managed by Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the other being Clatterbridge Hospital. The hospital was officially opened in 1982 by Queen Elizabeth II. The maternity wing was later opened by, and dedicated to, the Duchess of Westminster.
