Wilton House
Wilton House is an English country house situated at Wilton near Salisbury in Wiltshire. It has been the country seat of the Earls of Pembroke for over 400 years. The first recorded building on the site of Wilton House was a priory founded by King Egbert circa 871. Later, this priory, due to the munificence of King Alfred, was granted lands and manors until it became wealthy and powerful.
Wilton Abbey
Wilton Abbey was a Benedictine convent in Wiltshire, England, three miles from Salisbury on the site now occupied by Wilton House. A first foundation was made as a college of secular priests by Wulfstan, Ealdorman of Wiltshire, about 773, but after his death (802) was changed into a convent for twelve nuns by his widow, Saint Alburga, sister of Egbert of Wessex. Owing to the consent given by this king he is counted as the first founder of this monastery.

Quidhampton is a village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England, with a population of 404 according to the 2001 census. It forms part of the Salisbury urban area and is around 2 miles west of the city centre. The parish and village adjoins Wilton to the west, the unparished area of Salisbury to the north and east, and Netherhampton to the south. The name Quidhampton probably means "muddy home farm" or "home farm with good manure", from the Old English cwéad (dung, dirt) + hām-tūn.

Stapleford is a village and civil parish about 4 miles north of Wilton, Wiltshire, England. The village is on the River Till just above its confluence with the River Wylye. The 2001 census recorded a parish population of 265. The village is on the B3083 road, which joins the A36 road at the southern end of the village. By the river Till to the north are the earthwork remains of Stapleford Castle, a medieval ringwork and bailey castle.

The Battle of Wilton (1143) was a battle of the civil war in England known as The Anarchy. It was fought on 1 July 1143 at Wilton in Wiltshire. An army under King Stephen was stationed at Wilton Abbey, where it was attacked by an army led by Robert Earl of Gloucester. Although King Stephen's army was defeated, the king himself escaped capture.
