Seend Ironstone Quarry and Road Cutting
Seend Ironstone Quarry And Road Cutting is a 3 acres Geological Site of Special Scientific Interest at Seend in Wiltshire, notified in 1965. Iron ore was quarried and smelted in Seend from the 1850s with three blast furnaces fifty feet high, and employed 300 men. The antiquarian John Aubrey wrote that he discovered iron ore as early as 1666 when it rained so much that it washed away the sand from the ore and the later bright sun reflected on it.

Picket and Clanger Wood is a 66.4 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Wiltshire, notified in 1989.
Bradford Lock
Bradford Lock is situated at Bradford on Avon on the Kennet and Avon Canal, England. It was in Bradford on Avon that the first sod was cut for the Kennet and Avon Canal in 1794 and had wharves above and below the lock. The lock has a rise/fall of 12 ft 6 inches (3.81 m). There are moorings above and below Bradford Lock. Next to the canal, a little way west of the lock, is a huge 14th century tithe barn.
Caen Hill Locks
Caen Hill Locks are a flight of locks on the Kennet and Avon Canal, between Rowde and Devizes in Wiltshire England. The 29 locks have a rise of 237 feet in 2 miles (72 m in 3.2 km) or a 1 in 44 gradient. The locks come in three groups. The lower seven locks, Foxhangers Wharf Lock to Foxhangers Bridge Lock, are spread over 1.2 km. The next sixteen locks form a steep flight in a straight line up the hillside. Because of the steepness of the terrain, the pounds between these locks are very short.
Baynton House
Baynton House is a Grade II listed 17th century country house situated at Coulston in Wiltshire. Originally owned by the Godolphin family, after the death in 1781 of William Godolphin, it was bought by William Evelyn, who enlarged what had been previously a house 'of very small pretensions'. William Long purchased it in 1796 after his own manor house of Baynton in Edington had been destroyed by fire. He also made alterations and renamed it Baynton House.
Marston, Wiltshire
Marston is a small village a few miles south west of Devizes in Wiltshire, England. It has a bus stop, a phonebox, a post box and a green. There's a chapel on one side of the green. Some very beautiful old buildings exist in the village, most of which are in a conservation area. The farms in the village are gradually disappearing and being replaced by equestrian activities. There's a small pond on the village green which has some interesting things living in it and occasionally by it.
