The Battle of Ferrybridge, 28 March 1461, was a small engagement between the houses of York and Lancaster before the larger battle of Towton, during the period known as the Wars of the Roses. Ferry Fryston

Ferry Fryston is a suburb of the town of Castleford in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated in the metropolitan borough of the City of Wakefield. It was home to a coal mine before closure which was affectionately known locally as Fryston Pit. The area where the mine once stood has now been re-developed. Wakefield Metropolitan District Council approved plans in November 2007 for 150 new dwellings, parkland and public open space. The dwellings have still yet to be built.
