Ickworth House

Ickworth House is a country house near Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England. It is a neoclassical building set in parkland. The house built between 1795 and 1829, was formerly the chief dwelling of an estate owned by the Hervey family, later Marquesses of Bristol, since 1467. The building was the creation of Frederick 4th Earl of Bristol and Bishop of Derry who commissioned the Italian architect Asprucci to design him a classical villa in the sussex countryside.

Saxham Hall

Saxham Hall is a two storey Palladian house situated at Great Saxham, just outside Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, England. It is a Grade II listed building. The hall was designed by Joseph Patience and dates from 1798. Its most striking feature is the large, generous portico, which has a pediment with arms and large columns. Inside, fine painted ceilings are of note, along with a room decorated by the 18th century artist Angelica Kauffmann R.A.

Saxham and Risby railway station

Saxham & Risby railway station was a station serving Risby in the English county of Suffolk. It was opened by the Great Eastern Railway. It was not particularly near either of the places it served with Risby being about a mile to the north and Saxham a couple of mile to the south. According to the Official Handbook of Stations the following classes of traffic were being handled at this station in 1956: G, P, F, L, H, C. and there was no crane. Calor Gas had a private siding there.

Thingoe Hundred

Thingoe was a hundred of Suffolk, consisting of 31,850 acres . One of the smaller hundreds of Suffolk, around 9 miles wide and 11 miles long, Thingoe contained the borough of Bury St Edmunds on its eastern border, though the town was considered a separate jurisdiction. The remainder of the hundred consisted of the land to the west of Bury St Edmunds. The River Lark rises in the hundred, flowing north to the River Little Ouse.
