Wolstanton Rural District

Wolstanton was a rural district in Staffordshire, England from 1894 to 1904. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on Wolstanton rural sanitary district. It was abolished in 1904 with the parishes being divided between successors. The parish of Goldenhill ultimately became part of the county borough of Stoke-on-Trent. The parishes of Kidsgrove and Newchapel became the Kidsgrove Urban District, which survived until 1974.

Burslem School of Art

Burslem School of Art was an art school in Burslem in the Potteries district of England. Students from the school played an important role in the local pottery industry. In 1985, the school was featured in Pottery Ladies, a series of TV documentaries made for Channel 4 with the support of the Arts Council of Great Britain. Golden Torch

The Golden Torch, more commonly known as The Torch, was a mod nightclub in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Located on Hose Street, behind the Sneyd Arms Hotel on Tower Square, the club was opened on 30 January 1965 by headliners Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas. Acts such as the Kinks and Wayne Fontana followed. Peter Stringfellow was amongst the many DJs to have had a residency there.

Exhibits included displays about ceramics manufacturers Wade Ceramics, Royal Doulton, Sadlers, Dudson, Steelite, Royal Stafford, Moorland, Burleigh Pottery, Moorcroft and Cobridge Stoneware. Frink School

The Frink School of Figurative Sculpture was named after Elisabeth Frink (1930–1993), British Sculptor, and was a small intimate academy with a specific discipline of study closer in spirit to a master and apprentice structure than an educational institution. It was directed by the British sculptor Rosemary Barnett; other artists involved in its educational role included Harry Everington, Alan Thornhill and Ken Ford.

Tunstall railway station

Tunstall railway station was located on the Potteries Loop Line and served the town of Tunstall, Staffordshire. The station closed down along with the Potteries Loop Line in 1964. The station has been demolished and the site is now part of the Potteries Greenway, although the station master's house is still in existence, located on the A527 road.

Porthill Park

Porthill Park, also known as the Old County Ground, is a cricket ground in Wolstanton, Staffordshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1920, Staffordshire played Cheshire in the grounds first Minor Counties Championship match. Staffordshire used the ground from 1920 to 1966 and again between 1999 and 2004. In total, the ground has hosted 45 Minor Counties Championship matches and 5 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches, the last of which saw Staffordshire play Northumberland in 2004.

Pinnox branch

The Pinnox railway branch ran from Longport Junction, north of Longport Station, through to just south of Tunstall Station in England. The Pinnox branch was originally constructed as a mineral line between Longport and Tunstall. The line after leaving the main line at Longport Junction ran past Westport Lake on an embankment before passing under Davenport Road and Westport Road. The branch passed the side of what is now Co-operative Academy at Brownhill.
