Stoke-on-Trent Garden Festival
The Stoke-on-Trent National Garden Festival was the second of Britain's National Garden Festivals. It was held in the city from 1 May to 26 October 1986, and was opened by the Queen. Preparation of the site involved the reclamation of land formerly occupied by the Shelton Bar steelworks (1830-1978), about two miles north-west of the city centre, between Hanley and Burslem. British Steel's Shelton Bar steel rolling mill remained in use, finally closing in 2000.

Shelton Bar (Shelton Iron, Steel & Coal Company) was a 400-acre major steelworks in the city of Stoke-on-Trent, England. In its heyday, Shelton Bar employed 10,000 in the steelworks, had five coal mines, a complete railway system, and a by-products processing factory.
Etruria railway station
Etruria station is a closed station in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, which served the areas of Etruria and the larger district of Newcastle-under-Lyme. It closed on 30 September 2005. The station was opened 9 October 1848 by the North Staffordshire Railway and was modified by it in the 1870s, when the Potteries Loop Line was constructed. The station was an island platform situated underneath a bridge carrying the A53, approximately one mile north of Stoke-on-Trent station.
Etruria Hall
Etruria Hall in Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England was the home of the potter Josiah Wedgwood. It was built between 1768–1771 by Joseph Pickford. Etruria Hall was the site of the innovative research into photography by Thomas Wedgwood in the 1790s. There is a small commemorative plaque on the Hall. Due to financial difficulties, it was sold in the 1840s by Francis Wedgwood.
The Potteries Urban Area
The Potteries Urban Area is a conurbation in North Staffordshire in the West Midlands region of England. It includes the city of Stoke-on-Trent, and the towns of Newcastle-under-Lyme and Kidsgrove. The area has a population of 362,403, with Stoke-on-Trent making up over 250,000 of this population, and is so-called due to its fame for pottery manufacture ever since the industrial revolution.
The Underground (Stoke concert venue)
The Underground is a club/music venue in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. It was also part of the NME group, Club NME. It is well known for holding host to several up & coming indie/rock/metal acts. It also serves as a great host to many local bands in the Staffordshire area. Its popular Monday nights are renowned for their cheap drink promotions and variation of music. However when the club first opened (& before it became part of NME) it was a rave music venue.

The college's main campus, known as Cauldon Campus, is in Shelton and it has a second campus in Burslem. Stoke-on-Trent college is part of UniQ - the university quarter. A collaborative project with Staffordshire University and the Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College.
North Staffordshire Coalfield
The North Staffordshire Coalfield is an historic coalfield in the County of Staffordshire, England. The Coalfield emcompasses an area of nearly 100 square miles and that area is virtually wholly contained within the boundaries of the city of Stoke on Trent and the borough of Newcastle under Lyme. There are three other smaller coalfields which are associated with the North Staffs field and they are the tiny Shaffalong and Goldsitch Moss Coalfields near to Leek and the Cheadle Coalfield.
Hanley railway station
Hanley railway station was built by the North Staffordshire Railway as part of the Potteries Loop Line and served the town of Hanley, Staffordshire, England. The original station opened along with the first section of the Loop in 1864, but when the latter reached Burslem in 1873, a new station was built on a sharp curve in a cutting below Trinity Street. The old station remained in use for goods traffic.
Water World, Stoke-on-Trent

It is notable for being part of a Norman deer hunting park that has survived as open space into the modern era. Today the area is an extensive nature reserve.
