Stafford rail crash (1996)
On 8 March 1996, a Travelling Post Office mail train hauled by a Rail Express Systems British Rail Class 86 electric locomotive (no 86239) collided with a section of a freight train that had derailed on the adjacent line and fouled the path of the TPO mail train at Rickerscote just south of Stafford. One person, a mail sorter was killed in the crash, and twenty two others including the driver of the mail train were injured.

Penkridge railway station is a station serving the town of Penkridge in Staffordshire, England. It is situated on the Birmingham branch of the West Coast Main Line. To the north, the line continues towards Stafford. To the south, the line continues towards the city of Wolverhampton. The station is operated by London Midland, who run all of its train services.

Penkridge Viaduct
Penkridge Viaduct is a railway viaduct on the West Coast Main Line where it crosses the River Penk and Levedale Road near the town of Penkridge, Staffordshire, England. It is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building. It was built in 1837 on the Grand Junction Railway. The engineer was Joseph Locke and the contractor was Thomas Brassey. It was Brassey's first successful bid for a contract and the cost of the viaduct was £6,000.
Dunston, Staffordshire
Dunston is a small village in England lying on the west side of the A449 trunk road about 3 miles south of Stafford, close to Junction 13 of the M6 motorway. It lies at roughly 300 feet (98 m) above sea level.
Pillaton Hall
Pillaton Hall was an historic house located in Pillaton, Staffordshire, just outside of Penkridge, England. For more than two centuries it was the seat of the Littleton family, a family of local landowners and politicians. The 15th century gatehouse is the main surviving structure of medieval Pillaton Hall. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade II* listed building. Attached to the Gatehouse to the east is the chapel formerly dedicated to Saint Modwen.
Teddesley Hall
Teddesley Hall was a large Georgian country house located close to Penkridge in Staffordshire, now demolished. It was the main seat firstly of the Littleton Baronets and then of the Barons Hatherton. The site today retains considerable traces of the hall, gardens and other buildings, while the former home farm remains a working farm.
History of Penkridge
Penkridge is a market town and parish in Staffordshire with a history stretching back to the Anglo-Saxon period. A religious as well as a commercial centre, it was originally centred on the Collegiate Church of St. Michael and All Angels, a chapel royal and royal peculiar that maintained its independence until the Reformation.
