Staple Hill (Somerset)

Staple Hill is a hill in the English county of Somerset, the highest point in the Blackdown Hills. It is classed as both a Marilyn and a Hardy. This is one of the points on the Staple Fitzpaine Herepath a part of the Forestry Commission woodlands. There is a loop walk, starting from the car parking area, of 800m taking in a couple of view points with the paths upgraded early in 2009 to be suitable for disabled access.

Otterhead Lakes

Otterhead Lakes are a pair of reservoirs in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty south of Otterford in Somerset, England. They are fed by the River Otter and managed by the Otterhead Estate Trust Company Limited, working with the Somerset Wildlife Trust on behalf of Wessex Water. It was registered as a BBC Breathing Place during 2008.

Luxhay Reservoir

Luxhay Reservoir is an artificial reservoir near Angersleigh, Somerset, England. It is now owned by Wessex Water. It was built in 1905 by the town corporation to provide drinking water for Taunton. The reservoir is fed by other local water sources including Otterhead Lakes and Blagdon reservoir. From 1969 leakage was detected in the retaining dam. This got worse in 1990s remedial works, including a diaphragm wall were undertaken.
