Child's Ercall
Child's Ercall is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. It is located in a rather remote rural area between the small towns of Market Drayton and Newport: the civil parish had a total population of 599 at the 2001 census. The closest neighbouring village is Ollerton, around 1 mile to the west. Its name is thought to derive from a Celtic word, perhaps the old Welsh name Ercal, along with "child" in its mediaeval sense, meaning "knight".
Sutton upon Tern
Sutton upon Tern (sometimes spelled as Sutton-upon-Tern) is a civil parish in Shropshire, England. It is situated south of Market Drayton, on the River Tern. It is unusual in that a small area of the parish, at Ternhill, is almost an exclave of the parish (only a 5m wide strip of land joins it with the bulk of the parish). Buntingsdale Hall is located within the parish. The parish also includes the hamlet of Woodseaves, in the east of the parish on the A529.
Quarry Wood, Hinstock
Quarry Wood nature reserve is a 7-acre woodland on the west side of the A41 road at Hinstock in Shropshire that is managed by the Shropshire Wildlife Trust. Oak, birch and occasional hornbeam grow alongside swathes of rhododendron. The sandstone cliffs were formed in the Triassic period, around 220 million years ago, when this part of the country was hot and dry and dinosaurs were first emerging.
Pell Wall Hall
Pell Wall Hall is a neo-classical country house on the outskirts of Market Drayton in Shropshire. Faced in Grinshill sandstone, Pell Wall is the last completed domestic house designed by Sir John Soane and was constructed 1822–1828 for local iron merchant Purney Sillitoe at a total cost of £20,976. After Sillitoe's death, Pell Wall was inherited by Marten Harcourt Griffin who between 1872 and 1875 added the south wing and had the all the interiors remodelled.
Sambrook, Shropshire
Sambrook is a small village in the ceremonial county of Shropshire, where it is part of the civil parish of Chetwynd, north of the town of Newport. To the north is the small hamlet of Ellerton, with Howle to the west and Pickstock to the south-east. It was recorded as a manor in the Domesday book survey, when it was known as "Semembre"; the spellings "Sambroc" and "Sambrock" were later used: the name probably means "sand brook".

Ellerton is a small hamlet in Shropshire, England. It lies in a rather isolated rural area several miles north of the town of Newport, close to the village of Sambrook, and is part of the civil parish of Cheswardine. Its name may be derived from the Old English alor, and tun (farm or enclosure); "the farm at the alder tree". The hamlet is clustered around Ellerton Hall, an early 19th century manor built on the site of an earlier house.
Goldstone, Shropshire
Goldstone is a small hamlet in eastern Shropshire, England, in the civil parish of Cheswardine. It lies in an isolated rural area north of Hinstock and Ellerton, around 5 miles south of the nearest town, Market Drayton. Its name, which in the mediaeval period was variously spelt Goldestan, Golston, and Goldston, is formed on the Old English -tun ("farm, settlement") while Gold- was a common element in Old English personal names.
