Morda
Morda is a village on the outskirts of the town of Oswestry, Shropshire, England, located near the border of England and Wales. It is named after the River Morda, which, with the River Tanat, is one of the first major tributaries joining the River Severn as it wends its way from its birthplace on Plynlimon, mid-Wales, to the Bristol Channel.
Cambrian Heritage Railways
The Cambrian Heritage Railways are a heritage railway company, trust and society based at both Llynclys and in Oswestry in it's newly restored railway station, Shropshire, Western England. Formed after the 2009 merger of the Cambrian Railways Society and the Cambrian Railways Trust, it aims to reinstate the infrastructure required to operate trains from Gobowen to Llynclys Junction (for Pant), and to Blodwel.
Llynclys
Llynclys /ˈlʌŋklɪs/ is a small village in Shropshire, England, in the civil parish of Llanyblodwel. It lies north of Pant at the crossroads of the A483 and B4396, where there are several houses and a pub, the White Lion. The name Llynclys is based on the Welsh word for lake, llyn, and Llynclys Pool still lies near to the village.
Llanymynech Golf Club
Llanymynech Golf Course is situated atop Llanymynech Hill overlooking the villages of Llanymynech and Pant, approximately 9 miles from Welshpool, right on the Welsh/English border. From the course it is possible to view 12 of the old 'shire counties', including Shropshire, Cheshire, Flintshire and Denbighshire. The course is also surrounded by sheer cliffs and steep banks. There is a section of Offa's Dyke on the western edge of the course, and the Offa's Dyke Path crosses the course.
Llynclys South railway station
Llynclys South is a railway station on the Cambrian Heritage Railways's line in Shropshire. It is on the edge of the village of Llynclys, just south of Llynclys station, on the other side of the B4396 road. During the original commercial operation of the line the site was used for goods handling. The station was built as an alternative to the original Llynclys station, which has become a private house. Work on the South station began in 2004 and opened to the public in 2005.
Penygarreg Lane Halt railway station
Penygarreg Lane (or "Pen-y-garreg Lane") is a halt on the Cambrian Heritage Railways's line in Shropshire. It is on the northern edge of the village of Pant, north of the disused Pant station. Prior to its construction, trains stopped here only to reverse back towards Llynclys and passengers could not board or alight here.
Morda Tramway
The Morda Tramway refers to two industrial railways south of Oswestry, on the border between England and Wales. They connected the coal pits around Morda to transport networks, the first to the Montgomery Canal and the second to the Cambrian Railways at Whitehaven.
