The Recreation Ground, usually referred to as Treflan, is a football stadium in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain, Wales and is the home of Mid Wales League club Llasantffraid Village. Treflan was the home of The New Saints until they moved to Park Hall in nearby Oswestry, England.

The two main villages within the parish are Llanymynech and Pant, though only the English half of Llanymynech is in the parish as the other half is in Powys, Wales. Trefonen is a small village located approximately 3 miles south-west of Oswestry, and 3 miles east of the England-Wales border, in Shropshire, England. The name translates into "village of the ash trees" in English. In 2001, the total population was 1,798, but there has been considerable housing development since that time.
Llanymynech Golf Club
Llanymynech Golf Course is situated atop Llanymynech Hill overlooking the villages of Llanymynech and Pant, approximately 9 miles from Welshpool, right on the Welsh/English border. From the course it is possible to view 12 of the old 'shire counties', including Shropshire, Cheshire, Flintshire and Denbighshire. The course is also surrounded by sheer cliffs and steep banks. There is a section of Offa's Dyke on the western edge of the course, and the Offa's Dyke Path crosses the course.

Afon Tanat
Afon Tanat (River Tanat) is a river in northern Powys, Wales. Its source is close to the Cyrniau Nod mountain, to the north of Lake Vyrnwy. The river flows in a generally east-south-east direction until it joins the River Vyrnwy near Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain. For a short distance prior to its confluence it flows within western Shropshire, England. A number of other rivers act as its tributaries, including Afon Eirth, Afon Rhaeadr, Afon Iwrch and Cynllaith.

Llanyblodwel is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England; the spelling "Llanyblodwell" was commonly used in the past, and the village was sometimes simply referred to as "Blodwell". It lies 7 miles west of the nearest town, Oswestry, in the valley of the River Tanat. The parish had a population of 817 at the time of the 2001 census. It was formerly in the Llanyblodwel and Pant ward of the borough of Oswestry.
