The village holds a very traditional fete on the first Saturday of June each year. It lies in the civil parish of Eaton-under-Heywood; nearby is the hamlet of Birtley.

The name "Diddlebury" is thought to have originated from that of a local Anglo-Saxon chieftain Duddela an Old English name and 'burgh' (meaning dwelling or settlement and probably fortified).

Eaton-under-Heywood is a civil parish in Shropshire, England. It is named after the small village of Eaton, which lies under Wenlock Edge and the woods along it. The village is also known as Eaton-under-Heywood (to distinguish it from the other places called Eaton) and the parish/village is sometimes spelt as Eaton-under-Haywood. A path, which is a public right of way, leads straight up the Edge from the village. It is called Jacob's Ladder. There is also a bridleway up the Edge from Eaton.

St Edith's Church, Eaton-under-Heywood, is located in the village of Eaton-under-Heywood, Shropshire, England. It stands on the lower slopes of Wenlock Edge. The church, dedicated to Saint Edith of Wilton, is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Condover, the archdeaconry of Ludlow, and the diocese of Hereford. Its benefice is united with that of St Andrew, Hope Bowdler. The church is designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building.
