Clun Bridge
Clun Bridge is a historical bridge in the small town of Clun, Shropshire dating from 1450 which crosses over the River Clun. The bridge is still an important bridging point over the River Clun and carries the A488 and B4368 roads over it, despite being a stone packhorse bridge. Alternatively, there is a ford to cross the River Clun at Clun.
A488 road
The A488 is a route on the British highway network that runs from Penybont, near Llandrindod Wells, in Wales, to Shrewsbury, Shropshire, in England. Near Shrewsbury the A488 has a junction (a large roundabout) with the A5 trunk road. The route is very rural. In Clun the A488 crosses the ancient Clun Bridge and this, together with other sections of the route such as at Pontesbury, mean that larger vehicles regularly get stuck and cause significant damage.
Radnor Wood
Radnor Wood is a small forest east of the small town of Clun, Shropshire, England covering an area of 1.5 km. The wood can be easily accessed via the B4368 which passes through Clun and to the south of the forest. It is located on top of a hill which reaches 326 metres above sea level. This point is one of the highest areas in the valley formed by the River Clun. The hill is mainly limestone and this abundance of limestone was discovered by the Romans.
Clun and Chapel Lawn
Clun and Chapel Lawn (sometimes "Clun with Chapel Lawn") is a civil parish which covers a large rural area in the southwest of Shropshire, England. The parish council is formally called "Clun Town Council with Chapel Lawn" following a Governance Review in 2011/12 and a Resolution of the Council in May 2012. Prior to the Review, the parish's formal name was simply "Clun" and the parish council was "Clun and Chapel Lawn Parish Council".
Colebatch, Shropshire
Colebatch is a small village and civil parish in southwest Shropshire, England. The village lies on the A488, one mile south of Bishop's Castle, on the road to Clun. Also nearby, to the east, is the village of Lydbury North, while the hamlet of Cefn Einion lies to the west. In the village on the west side of a tributary of the River Kemp are the earthwork remains of Colebatch Castle, a small motte castle.
Cefn Einion
Cefn Einion is a dispersed hamlet in southwest Shropshire, England. It is located two miles southwest of the village of Colebatch and between the small villages of Bryn and Mainstone. Cefn Einion in Welsh means Einion's Hill and could refer to any of several Einions in recorded history. The nearest towns are Clun and Bishop's Castle (both small). The village lies at 280m above sea level. The minor River Unk runs to the west of the village.
