Manchester Assize Courts
The Manchester Assize Courts were law courts once located on Great Ducie Street in Strangeways, Manchester in England. From 1864 to 1877, the 85 metre building was the tallest in Manchester before being overtaken by the Manchester Town Hall. Widely admired, it has been referred to as one of Britain's 'lost buildings'. It was the first civic building to be constructed in Manchester since the Town Hall on King Street by Francis Goodwin in 1819.

HM Prison Manchester (often referred to as Strangeways) is a high-security male prison situated in Manchester, England, operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service. It is a local Prison, holding prisoners remanded into custody from the courts in the Manchester area as well as a number of Category A prisoners. HM Prison Manchester was known as Strangeways, after the area of Manchester in which it is located, until it was rebuilt following a major riot in 1990.
The Cliff (training ground)
The Cliff is a sports ground in Broughton, Salford on the banks of the River Irwell, that was used as rugby league club Broughton Rangers' home ground until 1933. It was purchased by association football club Manchester United F.C. for use as their training ground. It continued to be used by United until 1999, when it was replaced by the Trafford Training Centre in Carrington, Greater Manchester.
Centenary Building
The Centenary Building is a building at the University of Salford in Greater Manchester, England. It was completed in December 1995 and opened in 1996 and was designed by the architect Stephen Hodder. The building won the RIBA Award and Stirling Prize in 1996 and the Civic Trust Award in 1997.

Peel Park, Salford
Peel Park is a public urban park in Salford, Greater Manchester, England, located on the flood plain of the River Irwell below Salford Crescent and adjacent to the University of Salford. It was the first of three public parks to be opened on 22 August 1846, for the people of Manchester and Salford, paid for by public subscription.
Broughton Suspension Bridge
Broughton Suspension Bridge was a suspended-deck suspension bridge built in 1826 to span the River Irwell between Broughton and Pendleton, now in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. It was one of the first suspension bridges constructed in Europe. On 12 April 1831, the bridge collapsed, reportedly owing to mechanical resonance induced by troops marching over the bridge in step.
Wheater's Field
Wheater’s Field was a rugby ground in Broughton, Salford, England. It was home to the Broughton Rangers rugby league club of the Northern Union. On 19 October 1907, the stadium hosted a match between Rangers and the New Zealand All Golds. It had a capacity of 20,000 spectators. Rangers would call the stadium home until just before the First World War when they moved to the nearby Cliff. The ground hosted two Challenge Cup finals, in 1907 Warrington 17 Oldham 3 and in 1921 Leigh 13 Halifax 0.
Manchester Zoological Gardens
The Manchester Zoological Gardens opened in 1838, on a 15-acre site between Broom Lane and Northumberland Street in Broughton, now in Salford, England. Attractions included a Grand Menagerie, a lake, a maze, an archery ground, and a series of landscaped walks. The gardens were opened in 1838, by a company of local business men, on land rented from the Rev. John Clowes of Broughton Hall, who had himself become interested in botany and horticulture in later life.
Murder of Stephen Oake
DC Stephen Robin Oake, QGM, was a police officer serving as an anti-terrorism detective with Greater Manchester Police in the United Kingdom who was murdered while attempting to arrest a suspected terrorist in Manchester on 14 January 2003. He was posthumously awarded the Queen's Gallantry Medal.

It is an active Anglican parish church, in the deanery of Salford, the archdeaconry of Salford, and the diocese of Manchester. Its benefice has been combined with those of St John the Evangelist, Broughton, and St Clement with St Matthias, Lower Broughton.

St Philip's Church, Salford, is located in Wilton Place, Salford, Greater Manchester, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Salford, the archdeaconry of Salford, and the diocese of Manchester. The church has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building. It was a Commissioners' church, having received a grant towards its construction from the Church Building Commission.
