The River Nene is a river in the east of England that rises from three sources in the county of Northamptonshire. The tidal river forms the border between Cambridgeshire and Norfolk for about 3.7 miles . It is the tenth longest river in the United Kingdom, and is navigable for 88 miles from Northampton to The Wash.

The Nene Valley Railway (NVR) is a preserved railway in Cambridgeshire, England, running between Peterborough Nene Valley and Yarwell Junction. The line is currently seven and a half miles in length. As well as stations at each terminus, there are currently three stops en route: Orton Mere, Ferry Meadows and Wansford.

Opened in 1978, it occupies a site approximately three and a half miles long, from slightly west of Castor to the centre of Peterborough. Castor Hanglands is managed as a National Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest by Natural England, a non-departmental public body vested in 2006. In an area of less than 220 acres (90 ha), Castor Hanglands contains a remarkable variety of plant and animal life.
Milton Hall
Milton Hall, near Peterborough, is the largest private house in Cambridgeshire, England. As part of the Soke of Peterborough, it was formerly part of Northamptonshire. It dates from 1594, being the historical home of the Fitzwilliam family, and is situated in an extensive park in which some original oak trees from an earlier Tudor Deer Park survive. Note: This Milton Hall should not be confused with the other Milton Hall just to the north of Cambridge in the village of Milton.
