Didcot Railway Centre
Didcot Railway Centre, located in the town of Didcot in the English county of Oxfordshire, is based around the site of a comprehensive "engine shed" which became redundant after the nationalisation of the UK railways, due to the gradual changeover from steam to diesel motive power. Today, the site is a railway museum, home to many steam and diesel locomotives, passenger coaches and rolling stock. The site is also home to several active locomotives which are used for visitor train-rides.
British Airways Flight 5390
British Airways Flight 5390 was a scheduled passenger flight operated by British Airways between Birmingham Airport in England and Málaga, Spain. On 10 June 1990 an improperly-installed panel of the windscreen failed, blowing the plane's captain, Tim Lancaster, halfway out of the aircraft, with his body firmly pressed against the window frame. The first officer managed to perform an emergency landing in Southampton with no loss of life.
Milton Park
Milton Park is a 250-acre mixed use business park operated by MEPC plc. It is just south of the village of Milton, Oxfordshire, about 3 miles west of Didcot. It is on the site of a former Ministry of Defence depot between the A34 and Didcot Power Station. Although closer to Didcot, it lies within the Abingdon postcode area. The park is home to over 160 companies, employing in excess of 6,500 workers.
