Skegby was a rural district in Nottinghamshire, England from 1894 to 1935. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894 based on that part of the Mansfield rural sanitary district which was in Nottinghamshire. It consisted of the parishes of Blidworth, Fulwood, Haywood Oaks, Lindhurst, Skegby, Sookholme and Teversal. In 1935 the district was abolished under a County Review Order.

Papplewick Pumping Station

Papplewick Pumping Station, in the Nottinghamshire village of Papplewick, was built by Nottingham Corporation Water Department between 1881 and 1884 to pump water from the Bunter sandstone to provide drinking water to the City of Nottingham, in England. Two beam engines, supplied with steam by six Lancashire boilers, were housed in Gothic Revival buildings.

Well attended in the 1860s, it had fallen into decline by the 1900s.
