The village is three miles from neighbouring Eakring and four miles from Laxton.
Cratley
Cratley is a lost village in Nottinghamshire, England. It may have been located close to North Laithes Farm at Kneesall although an alternative site east of Laund Wood has been suggested. Another name's for the settlement is Cratela, or Creilage. Two field names on the Estate Map of the Liberty of Rufford i.e. (Rufford Estate) in 1637 are given as East and West Credlin. The Village of Cratley was listed as Crastell in the Domesday Book as having 22 villeins and 2 bordars, i.e.
Boughton railway station (Nottinghamshire)
Boughton railway station is a former railway station in Boughton, Nottinghamshire. It was opened by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway in March 1897 and closed by British Railways in 1955. The line was notable in that it crossed a series of ridges between river valleys and from Ollerton it climbed at around 1 in 150 to Boughton as it crossed a ridge before the valley of the River Trent.
