Cuckney Hill
Cuckney Hill lies between the village of Cuckney and the town of Market Warsop, in Nottinghamshire, East Midlands, England. Often referred to ironically as 'Cuckney Mountain' by a number of locals, as it is in fact quite small and does not stand out in the local Meden Valley region because of Welbeck Colliery's pit tip which is adjacent to Cuckney Hill. Cuckney Hill is located on the A60 road and is surrounded by trees, farmland and the pit tip.

Cuckney is a small village in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, between Worksop and Market Warsop. The A60 road connects Market Warsop and Cuckney via Cuckney Hill.
Cuckney Castle
Cuckney Castle was in the village of Cuckney, Nottinghamshire between Worksop and Market Warsop. It was a motte and bailey fortress founded by Thomas de Cuckney. It was slighted after The Anarchy in the reign of King Stephen. There are now the low remains of a motte, partly enclosed by a wide ditch and to the west the faint remnants of a bailey.
Welbeck
Welbeck is a village in Nottinghamshire, England, slightly to the south-west of Worksop. Welbeck became a coal-mining centre in 1912 and has a famous stately home, Welbeck Abbey, home of the Dukes of Portland, and which was founded in the twelfth century as a monastery. Among the famous people from Welbeck is former cricketer, Ted Alletson, who held a batting world record for 50 years.
Thynghowe
Thynghowe was an important Danelaw meeting place, or thing, located in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, England. It was lost to history until its rediscovery in 2005-6 by local history enthusiasts Lynda Mallett and Stuart Reddish. The site lies amidst the old oaks of an area known as the Birklands in Sherwood Forest. Experts believe it may also yield clues as to the boundary of the ancient Anglo Saxon kingdoms of Mercia and Northumbria.
Norton, Nottinghamshire
Norton is village in Bassetlaw district, Nottinghamshire, just North of Cuckney, and is home to a number of farmsteads. Lying between the two villages, is an Anglo-Saxon Hill-fort. Lying within the original extent of Sherwood forest, and on its present edge, and lying within the Welbeck Abbey Estate.
Warsop railway station
Warsop railway station was a former railway station in Market Warsop, Nottinghamshire. It was opened by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway in March 1897 and closed by British Railways in 1955. After leaving Shirebrook North station, the line crossed the Midland Nottingham to Worksop line (now the Robin Hood Line and passed the LD&ECR Warsop yard near Warsop Junction. These yards are still in use, currently by EWS.

Welbeck Abbey Cricket Ground is a cricket ground at Welbeck Abbey, Nottinghamshire. The county match on the ground was in 1901, when Nottinghamshire played Derbyshire in the grounds first first-class match. The ground held a further first-class match in 1904 when Nottinghamshire played Derbyshire.
