Mansfield is a local government district in Nottinghamshire, England. Unlike most English districts, its council is led by a directly elected mayor, currently Tony Egginton, an independent. Following the last election, the council comprised 28 Mansfield Independent Forum councillors, 12 Labour, 4 Lib Dems, 1 Conservative and 1 Independent. Settlements in the district of Mansfield include Mansfield itself, where the council is based, Mansfield Woodhouse, Meden Vale, Pleasleyhill and Warsop.

Mansfield railway station serves the large town of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, England. Alternatively it is named Mansfield Town, to distinguish itself from Mansfield Woodhouse and the GCR's former Mansfield Central. The station is 17 miles north of Nottingham on the Robin Hood Line and is managed by East Midlands Trains. Mansfield Brewery
Mansfield Brewery was constructed in 1855 on land that was once a part of the North Notts Coalfield in the market town of Mansfield, England. The main beer brewed here was Mansfield Bitter, along with other popular brands including Riding Bitter, Marston Old Baily, and Marksman Lager. The brewery also boasted a large array of seasonal beers, including the ‘Deakins' range. The brewery was one of the area's largest employers.

It is the busiest bus station in the county but does not offer an attractive waiting environment and has poor pedestrian links to the town centre.
A Spire for Mansfield
A Spire for Mansfield, sometimes shortened by the artists to 'A-Spire' is a 13 metre (42.7 foot) sculpture, which lies within the centre of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. It was officially endorsed by the former local mayor Tony Egginton and Mansfield District Council. The sculpture was installed in late 2007, as the third piece of artwork for public art in Mansfield and appears as a large metallic feather.
