The park centres around a reservoir which is managed by British Waterways and is used to provide water for the Grand Union Canal. The reservoir is a nature reserve and is a popular site for birdwatching, and also angling.

Daventry Rural District
The Daventry Rural District was a rural district in Northamptonshire, England from 1894 to 1974. It entirely surrounded the municipal borough of Daventry. The district was administered from Daventry but did not include the town. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 based on Daventry rural sanitary district. It was expanded in 1935, by a County Review Order, by taking over the parishes of the former Crick Rural District.
European route E13
European route E13 is part of the International E-road network. It runs most of the length of the M1 motorway in the United Kingdom (which runs from West Yorkshire through to its southern terminus in London). Although the United Kingdom Government participates fully in activities concerning the E-routes, E-routes are not signposted within the United Kingdom. The E13 follows the route Doncaster – Sheffield - Nottingham – Leicester – Northampton – Luton – London, and is 277 km long.
Daventry railway station
Daventry was a railway station serving the town of Daventry in Northamptonshire, England. It was on the Weedon to Leamington Spa branch line. The station opened on 1 March 1888 when a branch from the main line at Weedon reached the town. This line was extended in 1895 to reach Leamington Spa. The station was located to the east of the town centre, and was made mostly from wood. It was on a passing loop and had two platforms linked by a footbridge.
