Holdenby House
Holdenby House is a historic country house in Northamptonshire, traditionally pronounced and sometimes spelt Holmby. The house is situated in the parish of Holdenby, six miles (10 km) northwest of Northampton and close to Althorp. The house is a private residence, though the gardens are open to the public and include a falconry centre. The interior of the mansion is opened to the public for a few days of the year.
Midshires Way
The Midshires Way is a long distance footpath and bridleway that runs for 230 miles through Middle England from Bledlow in Buckinghamshire to Stockport, Greater Manchester. Between Northampton and Market Harborough it follows the route of a disused railway line, passing through two tunnels. The Midshires Way starts from Pulpit Hill, near Little Kimble and runs to Stockport, a total length of 230 miles, with 46 miles in Northamptonshire.
Highgate House
Highgate House was an important Northamptonshire coaching inn and Royal Mail posting station at the village of Creaton, on the Northampton to Leicester road, dating from 1663. The building, much expanded and adapted, is now used as a country house hotel and conference venue, but retains its original appearance and character.
