Norwood College
Norwood College was started in 1936 by Gordon William George Cass, or "Charlie" to all of his pupils. The school closed in 1972 and Charlie died in 1976 at Scotton Bank Hospital, Knaresborough. The school was on a corner site with the original part in Tewit Well Avenue and the later part in Leeds Road, Harrogate, close to The Stray. After Charlie Cass died, the building was demolished and a block of flats (apartments) was built in its place - Hanover House.
Clifton House Preparatory School
Clifton House School was on Stray Road, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. Information about the school is included on the web site for Norwood College http://www. aeden. plus. com/nc. htm . It is not certain when Clifton opened but it was in the 1890s in Queen Parade, Harrogate; it closed in 1968. The school was named after the house it occupied, Cliton House. Its owner, James Walter Nuttall, moved the school from Queen Parade to Stray Rd in 1906.

St. George's Road Cricket Ground in Harrogate hosted 91 first class and 5 list A one day games between 1894 and 2000 http://cricketarchive. com/Archive/Grounds/11/513/index. html. It hosted a woman's Test match starting on 1 August 1998 between England women and Australia women. It had a capacity at its peak of 8,000 spectators. The two bowling ends are known as the St Georges Road End and the Pavilion End.
Harrogate College
Harrogate College is a further education college in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. It traces its origins to the University Extension movement, which began in 1873 under the auspices of Cambridge University. It offers several levels of qualifications, including Further and Higher Education courses. Harrogate College relocated in 1985 to Hornbeam Park, after the older Bower Road location of the college in Harrogate closed.
Crimple Valley
Crimple Valley is an area south of Harrogate surrounding the River Crimple (also known as Crimple Beck). It gave its name to the synthetic yarn Crimplene, which was developed at the nearby ICI Laboratory. It is crossed by the Crimple Valley Viaduct.
Tewit Well
Tewit Well is a spa water well, the first chalybeate source discovered in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. After marrying Elizabeth Broad, in 1582 William Slingsby took his new wife on a Grand Tour of Europe, returning in 1594. In 1596, Slingsby discovered that water from Stray common in Harrogate possessed similar properties to that from Spa, Belgium. He named the well "Tewit", after a local word for peewit or lapwing, both once being common bird species on the Stray common.
Crimple Valley Viaduct
Crimple Valley Viaduct, also known as Crimple Viaduct and Crimple Beck Viaduct is a railway viaduct which crosses the valley of the Crimple Valley between Pannal railway station and Hornbeam Park railway station in North Yorkshire. It is a Grade II* listed structure. It is 1,875 feet long and has 31 arches, each of 52ft span, which reach a maximum height of 110 ft above the Crimple Valley.
St. Mark's Church, Harrogate
St. Mark's Church, Harrogate is a parish church in the Church of England located in Harrogate. It is a Grade II listed building.
