Grewelthorpe
Grewelthorpe is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England situated three miles south of Masham and six miles north of Ripon. It is located in the Nidderdale area of outstanding natural beauty. The name Grewelthorpe derives from the words Gruel and Thorpe, Gruel being a family name and thorpe meaning "outlying farmstead". Grewelthorpe was mentioned in the Domesday Book when it was known as Torp and was in the ownership of Gospatric.

Ripon and Pateley Bridge was a rural district in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England from the late 1930s to 1974. It was created in the late 1930s by a County Review Order, by a merger of the Ripon Rural District and the Pateley Bridge Rural District. The River Laver, from which the village takes its name, flows through the village. The parish includes the area of Dallowgill west of the village of Laverton. Historically Laverton was a township in the ancient parish of Kirkby Malzeard in the West Riding of Yorkshire.
Galphay
Galphay is a village in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a lower dales village with around 70 houses, some four miles away from Ripon and close to the larger village of Kirkby Malzeard. A large central green is used for village events and has a flagstaff, village seat and a number of trees. The pub, The Galphay Inn is open Tuesdays to Sundays.
Grantley Hall
Grantley Hall is a grade II* listed Country House located in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated about 5 miles to the west of Ripon. It belonged to the Grantley family when it was built in the 17th century. Until recently, it was owned by North Yorkshire County Council and used as a training centre. The mansion has 36 bedroom, 15 bathrooms and 22 reception rooms and is split into a two story part and a three story part. Other buildings on the Grantley Estate include The Ellis Building.
