Hickling Broad
Hickling Broad lies within Norfolk, England, 4 km south-east of Stalham. It is a National Nature Reserve established by English Nature and in the care of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, who run boat trips around the reserve for visitors. It is also part of the Upper Thurne Broads and Marshes Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Ludham – Potter Heigham National Nature Reserve
Ludham–Potter Heigham Marshes NNR is a National Nature Reserve established and owned by English Nature in Norfolk, England. Located within The Broads National Park, it is an internationally important wetland site. The area was declared an NNR in 1987, covers an area of 86 hectares and consists of grass marshes on the north side of the River Thurne between Ludham and Potter Heigham.

Potter Heigham railway station
Potter Heigham railway station was a railway station in Norfolk. It was on the line between Melton Constable and Great Yarmouth. It closed in 1959. In 2012 still in situ is the platform wall, some of the stations buildings and an old signal being used by Richardson's dry dock. You can trace the old line a good few miles to Stalham. Emma Louise Turner FLS (1866-14 August 1940) was an ornithologist and pioneering bird photographer whose 1911 picture of a nestling Bittern in Norfolk was the first evidence of their return to the United Kingdom as a breeding bird after local extinction since the late 1800s. She was described as being " …small in stature but very wiry, quite capable with a punt or rowing boat". She took up photography after meeting Richard Kearton.
