Byker Metro station
Byker Metro station is located in Byker, an area in the east-end of Newcastle upon Tyne. The station is on the Yellow line of the Tyne and Wear Metro system, and opened in 1982. During the period 2008-9 the station was used by around 430,000 passengers. Heading west from Byker station, the route crosses the dramatic 800m long Byker Viaduct constructed by Arup specifically for the Metro.
Chillingham Road Metro station
Chillingham Road Metro station is located in the south of the Heaton area of Newcastle upon Tyne, and is served by the Tyne and Wear Metro service. It was originally to be called Parsons, reflecting its proximity to the Parsons engineering works. It is located adjacent to the tracks of Heaton TMD and the East Coast Main Line at the end of a long path from Chillingham Road, and is unusual in that electronic displays showing the arrival times of the next trains were only installed in 2009.

It is located next to the East Coast Main Line, around 2 miles east of Newcastle railway station. The depot is operated by Northern Rail, and mostly houses stock operated by them and Grand Central. The depot code is HT. The nearest Metro stations to Heaton Depot are Walkergate and Chillingham Road, whilst the nearest National Rail station is Manors.
Walkergate Metro station
Walkergate Metro station in Newcastle upon Tyne, is on the Yellow line of the Tyne and Wear Metro. It is located near Heaton TMD. Originally opened in 1839 by the Newcastle & North Shields Railway as Walker, it was renamed Walker Gate on 1 April 1889. In BR days, the station was sometimes known as Walkergate and sometimes as Walker Gate; the Metro uses the single word form. Following closure for Metro conversion, the station was demolished and rebuilt in the standard Metro style.
Milecastle 1
Milecastle 1 (Stott's Pow) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. It was located near the (now disappeared) valley of Stott's Pow. Its remains are covered over, and are located beneath the recreation ground at Miller's Dene. Early excavations and investigations of Turret 0B were mistakenly interpreted as Milecastle 1.

Milecastle 2 (Walker) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. No remains are currently visible, having been built over, but its probable location is at or near the junction of the A187 Fossway and Tunstall Avenue.

Walkergate Primary School
Walkergate Primary School lies in the Walkergate suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne, east of the city centre. The school site has Sutton Street to the west, Coutts Road to the east, a terrace of houses fronting onto Shields Road to the north and a back lane skirting Ellesmere Avenue to the south. Until about 1938 Coutts Road was known as Little Benton Road South and Shields Road was known as the Old Turnpike Road.
